A new chapter begins and a new home for the Morehouse/fcc orphans

Yea yea. I may be laughing about it now but you can imagine the words that were flying outta my mouth when it happened.

 

Years ago, I rode with another driver to a place we had dropped a trailer in a dock a few days earlier. We got there, hooked up, and then went on the office.
Guy behind the desk says "you're ready to go", and hands the other driver paperwork. We go back outside, other driver get's in the truck, I walk to the back of the trailer to shut the doors when he pulls away.

As I hear the brakes release, and the trailer starting to move, I hear a forklift approaching fast. I yell at the driver to stop as the forklift starts to enter the trailer on the still down dockplate. The driver stops the truck about 4 feet from the dock. We ended up with the forks of the lift truck on the trailer, the counterweight on the dock plate, and everything between hanging in mid air. The forklift driver bailed out as soon as he saw what was happening.

Fortunately no injuries, and we were able to back up, and push the forklift back onto the dock, with the trailer. Since then, I ALWAYS make sure the dockplate is stored.

 

That son of a ##### is way too shiny!.. you ever cut any grass with it??
