We spent the weekend "battening down the hatches" moving stock and equipment, in what I think is going to be very heavy rain. (Be warned, any time I think it is going to be a big do about nothing, it is a huge storm.) So the better part of this week will be spent here at the house riding out "rain".

Have a good week and stay out of south and east Texas this week.

Thank you men, I truly appreciate it.

Dad would have been 81 this year if he made it till December. Step mom said she went to check on him at 6:00 yesterday morning, he was setting on the couch and his oxygen tube was in the floor. Lots of questions in my mind.

Brother and brother in law and I have been mowing and weed eating this morning. Needed to brush hog a section of the field so we can fall a dead walnut tree close to the house. Dads 1951 Case has not been started in at least 2 years, with new gas and reattaching the coil wire it rolled over about 6 times and started up.

Dad has an all original 1980 Ford pickup that he cherished. 300 / 6 / automatic. The brake line from the master cylinder down to the proportioning valve had rusted out, I found both new lined up In Michigan and had them shipped in here. Step mom told me this morning that she knew I would take care of it and keep it for sentimental reasons, so she wants me to have it.

Dad enjoyed his time making knives after he retired, he made 100’s over the years.

Dad will be missed terribly, I thank him for everything he taught me over the years….

The saddest day in a Man’s life is the day when he realizes that he can no longer be there for his family. That day, he finds the most comfort when he realizes that his son is Man enough to lead the family. Mission accomplished.

I look at that old Ford and I think that I would do a full restoration, everything mint in the undercarriage and engine, but I would clear coat the patina.
