Reminds me of the one and only time I ever dated a girl long enough to meet her parents. I walked straight up to him and introduced myself without the girlfriend breaking the ice. Her father barely spoke a word to me, didn't bother getting out of his chair and gave a half-hearted handshake. We really did not have anything in common and never really spoke much.

Her step-dad was awesome though. He and I hit it off immediately. Almost like we'd known each other a few years.

 

Doesn’t the cost of them things about make you mad??? I’ve been looking for another one for the last several months, and even ragged out junkers are still expensive. And, not much available here in IN, OH, KY, MI,IL area. Don’t really feel like trucking one from sea or shining sea.

 

Yes, I’ve been working on it for about 4 years now. I told my wife I’d do everything in my ability to have it ready for the Jeep Invasion next month in Pigeon Forge.

It’s been over 30 years now since it moved on its power, I’m trying to change that this year.

I promised I wouldn’t work on any other projects till it was finished, and I want my father in law to see it and drive it after all these years, it was his dream but got put on the back burner when my wife’s mom died in 1992.

This Jeep is my gift to her and her dad, I hope they can enjoy it together.

Just fired up the engine from the ignition switch on the steering column, seems the wiring is all correct so far. I don’t have a YouTube account or would share a video of it running after this 30 year slumber….

 

Hope you enjoy the Jeep Invasion. Wife and I used to go there every May to the Ford F100 nationals show. I really like just riding around or sitting by the road and watching the vehicles and people. I had a 74 F100 short bed with a 460 and c6. Until someone ran a stoplight and knocked the front clip off. I can't wait to see pictures of the Jeep when you're done , I've been showing them to a friend that's a been a Jeep nut for years.

Had a lot of fun last year. Still wish I could take their mint 1980 CBX they have on display for a rip. Bikes like that deserve to be ridden and not sit on display.

Yea I enjoy the car shows and swaps down there as well.

Stepmom gave me my dads little Ford he called the Tin Lizzie. Gotta move stuff around in the shop and relocate it before long. He loved this truck….

 

Of course, you know better now.
