Why you give notice? the best time to find a job is when you have one already. AND you can ask the new company NOT to call your current one unless its 100% for sure they are going to hire you. You still work for them.

Carlise is a dump and the shop mrg is a a hole. I was just there two weeks ago.

I agree, to heck with giving them notice. Find another job THEN tell them you quit effective immediately. Thats what I did. I was at orientation for Marten when I call KR Memphis and said I quit.

A two week notice is a common courtesy. Knight could care less if you lost your home. Clean your truck out, return it where it belongs and get out of that place. It's that simple.

Don't bother giving a 2 week notice. You will be term'd as soon as you do.

Giving the 'civil' 2-week notice is grounds to be let you go on the spot! They dont want departing drivers hanging around gloating and/or 'ruining' the newbies' attitudes. And, it wont help your DAC input from Knight..

yeah i guess i should have just quit on the spot but i'm new to this stuff, but i do have a job lined up, all i have to do is take the physical and start the orientation the 3rd, hopefully it won't be crappy like at knight, now i'm wonderin if i should just tell them get me home and get me outta this truck because the other day the #### thing shut off on me again, i called and left the shop manager a pretty nasty message. but yeah, knight sucks

So even if you give a 2 week notice, they will report badly on you on the DAC report? How exactly do you leave "nicely"?

Keep your middle finger tucked securely until out of view.

Statement was referring to leaving with any problems which could be reported on by Knight...some that the driver does not even know about. When I was there, Knight had a lot of 'rehires.' Some found the grass wasnt any greener elsewhere; but some were those who only Knight would consider rehiring because of various 'reasons.' Most drivers dont know what their DAC actually has on it until they cant find a job!!

And changing or correcting one's DAC (I've 'heard') is harder than cleaning up one's credit!
