Surprisingly, the cost of replacing the camera/arm isn't that much more than replacing the mirror. The fuel economy difference means the whole thing pays for itself every 10 months.
The cameras don't get covered in schmutz or road grime, handle the glare from led headlights better, and make blind side backing a breeze.
Schneider has been testing these for 6 years, the failure rate is absurdly low - on par with 'real mirrors'. Maverick made the switch more than 2 years ago and we haven't heard any hulabaloo about it.
