Yes, but workers striking when a company is already having problems is not smart on their level either.

I don't usually post in your thread but felt the need. No slight intended as I've enjoyed your posts for the last 15 or so.

Those of us that are fortunate enough to work within a union that offers up pensions, profit sharing, 401 w stock options and cheap benefits are not complaining about rates or cents per mile.
Nor are we looking for better wages.
    We negotiate for them!

Trying to make sure the next generation of workers doesn't work for less.

But until you refuse to use union products or haul union produced freight I want to thank you for contributing.

It's a vicious cycle and as you are still working where you're at, despite the complaints, you then, are willing to work for what is offered. Free market.
    Some see other options.

You have to realize by now the American truck driver, a once proud and respected profession has gone the way of the dodo bird and all of us can and will be replaced at some point, by cheaper labor, at least on the company side, reducing rates all the way down the chain.
And you also have to realize even if every union was eliminated the cost will NEVER decrease.
You can hate the union but why hate on the men and woman who are lucky enough to work it.

I'll never condemn a man for trying to make all he can in his 40 years or so of working.

The loves in Wichita is now open, with showers. The Wichita yard manager went to meet with the loves manager today. Maybe we will get super secret priority showers there.

    Lonesome and dwells40 Thank this.

I saw an empty Bulldog yellow W990 with a Wylie sticker pulling an empty RGN east of Birmingham today. Seems to be a trend starting.

I saw that email about that from Don...soooo glad to see it finally open, this way they don't have be in any kind of hurry to get a shower at the yard...plus we can go stay at the Love's so we can poop without bringing our own paper and have soap to wash afterwards.

Slight change of routing for me. Instead of delivering in SoCal then head up to San Jose, Rancho said to deliver San Jose first, then come down to SoCal. Better freight options for my heavy arse Volvo and a step conestoga out of SoCal. Works for me, I get a few extra miles and have a better chance to get rolling on my next load with less wait time.
