I just recently got into an accident like 2 days ago parked on the side of the road (hazards on triangles out). A driver may have fell asleep assuming that cause it was 2am when it happened, rear ended and side swiped me resulting in his truck and trailer being towed away. I was let go from my company Western Express. Any suggestions on what I should do next to find a job

Can't believe you were let go if hazards were on and triangles out... Seems really odd...

That makes 0 sense. If the truck is broke down, what could you possibly do different if hazards are on and triangles are out? Of course your going to be a sitting duck...

I'm not one to recommend lawyers but, if what you're saying is true... I'd be contacting one...

    Good luck dude

I tried making it make sense. To let you get a more understanding of it I had my truck running overnight the previous night before delivering load. I go to deliver load afterwards I ended up running over debris in road which made me pull over to inspect. After checking my truck was forced to do a park regine( which took about an hour and some changed). I couldn’t move during this time. I didn’t know you had to submit a dvir for a parked Regin. The only thing they could tell me is that because I didn’t submit dvir for truck doing a parked regin I had to be terminated for safety reasons

Iamoverit, Oxbow and tscottme Thank this.

We usually find there is a little more to these stories, and if you want accurate advice from some of the posters here who are knowledgeable, you need to not leave anything out. Were you not entirely off the road? Still out in the lane some?

No I have pictures and video my truck was clearly all the way inside white line on shoulder. The driver was sleepy and crossed into shoulder while I was parked there doing a forced regin

tscottme, Bean Jr. and Chinatown Thank this.
