Why even ask the question AFTER you start working at the company?
-
I think I have to agree with LTL Bull. -
1) You do not have enough experience to be making the decision yet to own a truck. You also do not have enough money to be 'independent'. Wait until you can buy your own truck with at least 1/3the total cost as a down-payment; anything less than that nearly guarantees you will fail.
2) Lease-to-own schemes ONLY favor the company. Having once worked inside at a company that did this, I can tell you that the trucks they made available were the ones they were about to GET RID OF, and absolutely NOBODY who bit on this terrible scheme EVER fully paid-off the truck. Most went bankrupt in 2 years, and those trucks that were not wrecked were made available for the next fool to play around at owning his own truck. Some were sold 3x during my 4 years there!
3) Super Ego is just a plain c@ppy company any way you look at it.
4)Who the h*ll adds that they are "** and a half" years old after they reach the age of 12??????

all of you assume everyone has heard of L/P before. I had never heard of it and had been driving for over 30 yrs before coming on here and hearing of it.
and this site is only known to maybe 10% of drivers out there, others have never heard it. it ain't like it's part of your CDL learning process.
I found out about just by pure chance as it popped up one day looking for some info on something.
REO6205, Sirscrapntruckalot, tscottme and 1 other person Thank this. -
Taking a larger view, it's not just the trucking industry that has to deal with this stuff. Cutco, Mary K, and the various multi-level marketing schemes are abundant in the world and should be regulated out of existence. -
I think the OP is a Reddit dude making up a scenario & watching our reaction.DelayedSquid91 and Rugerfan Thank this. -
