Hey guys, so me and my wife got our class A cdls last year and we've been driving teams for the last 7 months. We are company drivers in missouri. We keep feeling let down when our checks come on Friday because we stay out a month at a time run 7 days a week and this week's check was $1,336 dollars after taxes. We ran 5,300 miles, got 150 milage bonus and 100 for weekend pay. Are we getting screwed or is this about right? We have nothing to go off being new at this it just doesn't seem like alot when ya live in this truck day and night 7 days a week ya know. Thanks for any help yall

$1336 each, correct? If it's what each of you get, it isn't bad for an inexperienced driver, in fact, that's very good money for an inexperienced driver. Freight isn't at its peak right, so we are all feeling the pinch. You're getting close to Thanksgiving so it could slow up some leading into the holiday. Once you get experienced, you could drive for more sophisticated team driving positions. 5300 miles isn't bad for a team but with the right routes, you can get closer, or more than 3k.

I’ll say this. Based on that check amount for 2 people yes you’re getting screwed. I’ve ran team before. The truck hardly stops. It’s a never ended roller coaster. When I was doing team Cali and back to Illinois we made 1700-2400 each. That is still low to me due to the fact I can make that solo. Thus why I don’t team anymore. A lot of these companies want teams but pay you like your solo. Which is very unjust and greed. My advice start looking else where.

That's more than you'd get if you were teaming for Schneider -- especially given your current level of experience.

If you had more experience....say 2+ years each...I'd be more inclined to agree with the above post.

Guys I appreciate the feedback. That's also the most we've made. Normally our checks our 850. We'll spend a couple days a week just sitting most weeks waiting on an appointment. They only have two other teams in the whole company so I don't really think they know how to run us. We're just going to get our experience and go elsewhere. Another month and ups will hire us. We have all out endorsements also. Any advice?

Sounds like your company isn't truly a team company. You got all.the endorsements so you're gravy! UPS seems to be a good gig for teams, some say the cream of the crop. Certain reefer companies are probably good for teams as well.

R&L teams are knocking down 90,000$ plus annually for teams. Yeah you’re leaving a lot on the table. I’d check with an R&L terminal near you.

Yeah, as posted, UPS and R&L are excellent choices. I'd go with UPS so you and the wife can each draw a fat pension some day.

I hate to break the news to you OP, but you need to find a better company.

I have teams. The team that is on the bottom of my payroll list nets $1600 a week EACH. The top, I can't tell you because I don't want to insult you.

Can't remember if @blairandgretchen and wife teamed with R&L or Old Dominion but sounds like they did good for themselves... Would assume money is even better these days... Maybe he can recommend a better fit?
