New driver:Next time that light comes on, I’m just going to ignore it. Experienced driver:Going to do my best for there not to be a next time, no need to ignore it let’s get it fixed.
I know you’re new, and you have aspirations for this career, but respectfully from one experienced driver to a new driver, you should strive to do better and be better, you’ve had a few accidents in this first year, and you’re to the point of ignoring issues and others advice so long as the red shut down of death doesn’t come knocking on your door. And believe me, I’ve been there, as long as it rolled I went, 21 years later has taught me to be a better version of the ignorant me back then who thought they knew it all and had it all figured it. Hopefully you’ll heed some of that advice.
2020 Freightliner won't start, multiple trips to the shop.

My 2019 mack ended up needing all new wiring harnesses, 3 months later and an engineer from mack coming down from PA and it was fixed, absolutely an inconvenience but it needed fixed. My 2025 mack right out of the gate had 2 pressure sensor issues, I immediately addressed both. Freightliner should have some kind of a breakdown number you can call where they can plug in to your truck VIA VIN# and remotely diagnose it, maybe try that. Cypress has good maintenance, I’m sure they can get it right if you voice your concerns of a breakdown.

A code is literally about the only thing that will set that light. There's a code there, the truck probably just isn't displaying it or its gone inactive.
When they plug in the laptop they should be able to view the whole fault history since the last time it was all cleared. A decent mechanic should be able to see which fault is likely the issue because they're all stamped with how many times its occured and the hours or miles when it last occured.
My guess is they're plugging it in, clearing the history to turn the light off, seeing that the fault didn't reoccur on their test drive around the block and then telling you everything's fine.Last edited: Jan 25, 2025

I drove a 2018 crappycadia and it had a bad coolant level sensor. After throwing a code and the shop panicking a dozen times telling me immediately to pull over and check the coolant level and me doing so finding it fine, I finally told them I wasn't pulling over again. They sent me back to the shop, where they changed the coolant level sensor. Never had another issue.
But on mine, the little screen said "low coolant level" when it would throw the light. It wouldn't just throw the light.tscottme, OldeSkool and nextgentrucker Thank this. -
