First It’s not illegal for you to break a seal on a load you are currently responsible for there is a risk that the receiver will refuse if they determine the seal has been tampered with, that’s a risk dispatch would have to be responsibility for. Second I’m not sure if you need to take the moral high road for the shipper who in your words paying for total use of the trailer if the boss wants to generate more revenue in this case I personally think I would have made the pick up it’s his company it’s his call in this situation my morals aren’t in question here when he’s asking me to do something that isn’t illegal he might be breaking a agreement he has with the original shipper but it doesn’t have anything to do with me
Drop & hook sealed loads, dispatch asking to load more on trailer

Just curious, what did they tell you to do to "bypass the seal?"
I agree it doesn't sound illegal but definitely seems shady that they are trying to hide it from the original shipper/receiver.hope not dumb twucker Thanks this. -
Broker probably wanted a “dedicated trailer” with tracking and a true team for $2 a mile lol screw them and their seal. Do what makes sense to you. If the $100 doesn’t make sense because you’ll loose too much time than ask for more. If they don’t give more than screw them.

I would do it .I wouldn’t do it for 100$ though. 20 years ago I did for 200$ or so on a regular basis. Especially if it was at company direction and everyone was on board at the company. Unless they’re paying for exclusive use it’s not really in the shippers wheelhouse what happens enroute. If they’re paying a premium for exclusive use it morally wouldn’t be right. When we’d do it there was always a few crisp 100$ bills in our pay envelope at the end of the week. Yes we actually used to get checks, direct deposit wasn’t always the way. It made the company some extra cash, made us some extra cash, shippers and receivers had there freight moved on time, undamaged, and no shortages. It was win win win all the way around
