They are good to me. I run were I want. Get home when I want take as much time off as I want. Shop is good. I make decent money and I’m 58 years old and in 3 1/2 years when I can get Social Security I’m done. Will get some part time job just to have something to do. Not enough work time left to bother looking for another job even if wanted to

Im about the same age as you, I'm 57. Gonna hang in there probably till 62 or maybe a little longer. Wherever I end up next I hope it's my last company though I've been with 2 the past 9 years. Magnum seems like a decent company. I need to find out their rider age, my grandson is 8 and I'd like to take him in the summer... I really can't stand the 1 day off for every 7 days, been there done that.

Rider age is 10 and is free.
No on the time off thing I have no idea about the official policy is. I keep to myself hardly ever talk to anyone in corporate except when I reload out of MN or ND, you have your choice of what’s available, not forced from the outbound region

Magnum has a very liberal time off policy. Just give them 10 days notice. Yes, you can definitely make more money elsewhere, but Magnum has a lot of good things going for them. They always paid any detention or layover that was required. Equipment is kept in great shape. They don't touch real nasty areas like CA or NYC. You can actually meet your dispatcher and put a face to a name. I actually hung around in the office in Fargo for a couple hours one time because I had nothing else better to do and needed to go there anyway. They are a very laid back group of people.

Main reason why I left was because I thought I lived too far off the beaten path in regards to their lanes. My dispatcher was actually surprised when I called to give my two week notice. In hindsight, it was a very trivial reason to leave, especially when recalling some conversations with other drivers there and where they lived. But the good thing about leaving on good terms is that the door is always open if I want to go back. If my company kicked the can tomorrow, I wouldn't even hesitate to give them a call. General reefer bs aside, I genuinely enjoyed driving for them

What sold them for me was when the recruiter at the time got me a rental car from Chicago Midway from Schneider's Gary terminal, reimbursed me the Uber ride from Gary to get it, and allowed me to go home with said rental car to gather things before driving to Fargo. It was all good things from there

The flow below really hurts the looks of the truck. Do they really help that much with fuel mileage?

I got 8 mpg in January. I ran MN/ND to SLC/PNW and back all month. Extremely cold temps

I also ran almost 8 mpg last month. I hauled a bunch of lighter loads though

Just took my first load of floor loaded potatoes from Park Rapids MN to Delhi LA. I’m finding out these washout places don’t like washing out potatoes. We had one place quote us $300 for a trailer washout.
Sitting at the Pilot now and waiting for the screaming Eagle to open up and hopefully get washed out.

    nextgentrucker and Knucklehead Thank this.
