I found a job last night that’s tempting. Hires from anywhere. Teams pulling fedex. Pays 85 cents a mile. Advertising 100-140. Requires six months.

I don’t think I’ll be going back to Chicago unless there’s a pretty good reason, not any time soon at least

The best money I ever made has been in heavy haul. Company I worked at I started out in a rollback (though I had a class A license), then got into the Landoll, then the RGN. The RGN was the big bucks. I was home every night except maybe 2 or 3 nights a year (if that) and worked if I recall correctly only two Saturdays in the nearly 4 years I worked for that company. $85,000 was good, in 2014. In 2015, when I unfortunately lost control of my mouth and got fired, May of 2015 to be exact, I was sitting at $50k. I would have definitely hit 100, I think.

Get your year in. Two jobs looks better than three. Teaming with 6 months your trusting your life with someone else. How good of a driver are they? 140 a year is a crazy amount of money.

I don’t like that it’s team. Plus driver facing camera. And no benefits. But I would probably take home around 2k more a month than what I got now. It’s very tempting. They only require 6 months! I’m happy with what I got but 20-30k raise is a lot of money….

I know it’s not ideal to have a third job already, but I bet SNI would take me back if it came to it. I’m tempted, probably won’t leave but man…

20 to 30k is in which tax bracket? The other thing, is if you can put money in a 401k you will shield it at the upper tax bracket. 33% tax bracket, means you invest a 1.0 dollars rather than keeping .66 dollars.

Over 100k just bumps it 2% it’s roughly 50-100 is 22% and 100-190 is 24%. So only a small amount of that would be taxed higher and it’s only slightly higher.

so in theory I could make 123 k and max out the 401k and stay in the lower bracket

I think my mind is in the Obama tax rate era. Personally above 70k a year contribute something to a 401k. 50k is enough for me to live off of, but I make choices of what to get. I don't spend much of what I make above 70k, I get everything I want and save.
