I don’t think Schneider will take out RHS seat. Used to they did ‘spring and winter’ training where an osr would ride with you, just about 4-5 miles, see if you had bad habits. Did in bulk side and this was all way before covid, 2014ish

I’ve thought about removing my passenger seat(I own my truck) to bring my Cane Corso with me. But again….. I don’t want hair in the cab floating around. Let it be said though…… I love my Cane Corso.

Well I decided to go ask the shop and I got a bit of a mixed reaction. They definitely will not store the seat for me. He didn’t say I couldn’t do it, but did advise me against doing so. I asked him if he’s seen anyone else do it ever and he said no. I’m not willing to get fired over it so I guess the seat is staying put. Now I’ll just have to take ridgelines advice and grab a hacksaw so I can cut I nice hole in the back for the window AC unit.

Try dropping the air in the passenger seat all the way to quiet it down.

Why not just idle the rig? Any company that don't provide a apu in today's world. Their #### is getting idled all day everyday if I have the keys to it... no way I'm going to go live in a sheet metal box for weeks at a time and be uncomfortable... I can sleep cold. But as soon as it's above 70 degrees. I'm idling all day

I wish, these new cascadias all have computers and most are set up to turn the truck off after 180 seconds unless the tires roll. I’ve tried everything to make it idle. Western also just changed their trucks to not be able idle, and it’s a huge pain in the butt. I can’t sleep hot either. I’ve been thinking about it a lot. Sadly it could be the reason I would quit, but I’m hoping to get the AC situation figured out. My truck is made of plastic, turns the cruise off whenever it feels like, won’t idle, has more computers and sensors that malfunction than is necessary, and is not fun to drive….

Have you talked to your company about the air conditioning situation? Seriously, I can’t imagine a mega making its drivers sleep in a hot cab.

When I started with J Rayl, my first 7 months were spent driving 2014 Kenworth T-660s (I went through several of them, they had CNG (compressed natural gas) Cummins engines that were… problematic. Anyway, I was allowed to remove my passenger seat (our shop stored it for me) and put a dorm fridge there, strapped down of course. It was a pretty cramped cab compared to the Internationals I’ve been driving since, which have a nice space behind the passenger seat that’s big enough for my fridge now.
