The one I follow was Country Boy Trucker but he hasn't posted a video in over 3 months so I'm not sure what's going on with him.

What is your favorite product to haul and also what is your least favorite to haul?

I prefer the juice runs. They’re usually longer distance, and the ones that are live load / unloads take place outdoors.

Dairy is my least favorite. The runs are shorter in miles due to the in transit shelf life of the product. Unlike juice and other products, dairy loads that are live loads / unloads always take place indoors.

I was curious if some products beat ya up more than others with the surge?

It’s usually the roll of a dice. I’ve experienced heavy surge with just about every product. I’ve also had smooth rides with each one, too. A lot of things factor into it. (Tank gallon capacity, viscosity of the product, whether or not the shipper loads it to the max, etc) The lighter products surge more in my opinion. It’s like shaking a bottle of water in comparison to shaking a bottle of syrup. I experience surge on the majority of my juice loads, but it tends to smooth out once you’re above 55 MPH.

I’ve had people ask me what heavy surge feels like. I describe it as the same feeling you get when you back under a trailer and slam the kingpin into the 5th wheel hitch. If you stab the brakes or accelerate from a stop light too fast, you will experience that type of hit each time the transmission shifts through the first few gears. Most loads aren’t that bad.

The worst product I ever hauled was this stuff they called "rice base". Not sure exactly what that means or what it's used for, but that stuff surges like no other. I couldn't just put my foot to the floor and let it surge like I normally would because it just felt way too hard on the truck, and frankly my neck/back to be honest haha. I'm not sure if you guys haul that; this was after I started working at Caledonia. I picked it up in Lathrop, CA from a place called California Natural Products.

Never heard of it. Only thing rice based I have hauled was rice bran oil. Didn't even know such a thing existed before I hauled it. Apparently it's used in horse feed...and commercial kitchen fryers.

I've never hauled water, but I imagine that would surge the worst unless the tank was filled to overflowing with no air gap. Pretty sure you would be well over gross with that though. Best product to haul is frozen concentrated OJ. You won't feel a thing in normal driving conditions.

Alright, I think I can post this question here, I have a 2022 Peterbilt 579 and I've been getting this code "Transmission Fault service required" and it's stuck on Neutral, you can't shift gear. It usually go out when I turn the truck off for 4-5 minutes. I'm sure some of you guys have had this issue before so I was wondering the cause for it and is there a permanent fix for it. Obviously I'm gonna have to take it to the shop sometimes but I'm just seeing if it’s gonna be a simple fix or a big one like replacing the transmission or something.
