Hi everyone, I’m Pat. I used to work in freight insurance and now I’m talking to owner-operators to better understand your day-to-day headaches. I’m not selling anything, just trying to learn.
I’ve been looking into Uber Freight and heard mixed opinions.
What do you think works well? What doesn’t?
In a perfect world, what would the ideal version of Uber Freight look like?
For context, I can code and know my way around AI.
Thanks for your time. I really appreciate it!
What do you think about Uber Freight?

I’ll be scoffed at if I publicly tell you that I’ve been running their freight for many years and hundreds of successful loads completed
If you’re thinking to try setting up your own freight business with your tech skills you’re going to need some very wealthy friends.
Try finding a Saudi Arabian investor that’s willing to invest a billion like Uber did.Sons Hero, Sirscrapntruckalot and Siinman Thank this. -
Hi! Thanks for the answer!
I am just trying to learn and see if there are ways to make things better. I am glad to hear that you think it works well and you have been able to run their freight without issues.
I just mentioned the tech skills to be upfront and transparent about who I am. I am not a trucker. But I have worked in freight for a while. And I am genuinely curious about how to improve things through technology.
Thanks again!Concorde Thanks this. -
Kinda sounds AI generated?

Unfortunately for them they can be easily manipulated and lose tons of money in the process.
Have spent countless hours talking with their engineers if you can call them that.
They need someone like me on their team.

While talking with some other people. They gave me a great idea. About helping owner operators forecast shipper/broker demand.
Today, when a load is on a load board. It's already too late. Because supply and demand rates are calculated as a snapshot in time (both for brokers and uber freight).
But, if you could predict where the shipper demand spikes will appear. You could move your supply to where shipper demand will be higher (before it happens). Getting better rates.
What do you think about it?
Maybe it's already done, as you are saying, just sharing a conversation I had with a trucker. -
Concorde Thanks this.
