as of july 1 , NM speed limit for all semi trucks is 65 mph .
this includes freeways and major US routes
    ( 550/ 285/ 60/ 70 ) .
state cops / sherriffs / locals all ready enforcing it ( no matter what the speed sibn says) .
thank that ####### rep from gallup for starting it , and the idiots in SF who let it get through , and our fool gov for signing it .
BTW - four wheelers can still do whatever speed they want like always .
( fine is 250 and up and points on drivers license plus the cdl penelty)

as of july 7 this bill DID NOT Pass !!
sorry for the bad information , local news had it wrong .

Just another state that’s veering severely to the left.

Thanks for the info. So did they change all the signs? How can a cop wrIte a ticket if there's no sign? There's no way something like that would hold in court.
I went thru on the 2nd and saw no notice of this new law so I appreciate you posting this.

New Mexico, not much better than the old one.

The only state I travel where folks still wear masks, in their car, alone.

It doesn't matter to me. I always set the cruise to 65 anyway. I don't think that's a terrible law. Some drivers take advantage of 75 and 80 limits so you really shouldn't blame the New Mexico government, as you should blame other truckers for giving them the gumption to pass that law.

Roads are too rough in places to go over 65 anyhow.I don't plan on driving through NM again.

It's a #### state that keeps coming up with more reasons to avoid it.

So drivers doing the speed limit are somehow taking advantage of something?

Doesn't bother me, I run 55. So I'll just raise hell about all those 65mph truck taking advantage of..... Something?

Man you know what I'm talking about..they give you 75 but some drivers go 85. Fly by so fast my truck shakes lol. All I can say is dont give NM a donation.
