It should if the old starter is 11 tooth, though you may need to clock it. I can't remember 100% that they were 11 tooth.

Keep in mind the length of your cables. Sometimes putting the smaller 39MT can cause issues because cable lengths may be too short. It depends on routing.

If it'll work with the cables, go with the 39MT. If cable length is an issue, go back with the OE 42MT

I don't remember which of my old motors (pre-1999) had a spacer on the starter nose. Check your starter when you remove it.

My starter is not on the truck. The guy I got it off didn't say he was keeping it

That is 24v. Will not work. That is military spec. Your truck does not have the batteries wired for 24 or a switch for it. You need 12v. And you will need a spacer or the snout sits in to deep.

Starters for those are still a dime a dozen but they don't cost a dime a dozen. Lol.

Is that the price that the fleetpride guy actually quoted you? The online prices they show on many items are way higher then the over the counter prices in person. I know nothing about the area you live in but we have a few starter/alternator rebuild shops in our area. They usually have one on the shelf or can rebuild one found at a salvage yard half price. One good shop we use does many modifications to make them better then new Remy’s out of the box.
