How drivers do you think are working for free and don't even know it?

I guess it's my fault the economy has sucked for an extended period of time. The mega carriers are in bed with regulators to prohibit new drivers from doing paid work. And also most jobs just plain suck. The pay sucks. The work sucks. The boss sucks. Why in the world would I try to prove a point to impress people I don't know and that I don't care what they think about me. Plus everyone knows I'm one bad move in a truck from never being able to be hired any where. Don't plan on that happening, but why would I risk it working for free?

Truck prices continue to fall, and the bottom looks like it has to come in the next year or so. I know most people didn't expect the downturn to last this long, but it carries on down. Imagine if diesel jumps 50% overnight. There will be so many more bankruptcies. Guys still trying to pay off trucks from COVID that they paid double for. I'll take one for 80% off please and thank you.

Pretty sure every place pays to work. At this point with such a large gap in employment, you’ll be starting over fresh from the start. The 8-9 months of experience are now over.

It's been less than 3 months so doubtful, and man it's not responsibility to teach people about money. Huge amount of guys are working for free and don't even know it. Just because you're getting a paycheck doesn't mean you're not working for free

And a month of truck driving school. What a scam. Learn an air brakes test in one afternoon sipping tea. Learn zero real world skills, priceless.

Weird, I had no issues selling my truck and getting a job hauling fuel. I talked to the guy a few months ago and we had everything lined out so that I could sell my truck right when the new one I’d be driving was showing up at the dealer.

Have you ever stopped to think about your experience or lack thereof and that may be part of the reason you’re not being offered the money you think you deserve for pointing a truck down the road? Or that maybe your rush to not paying state income tax put you in a limited job market for an inexperienced driver?

I think everyone deserves fair pay for their work. And I still think it could be had in trucking. But I also think for every good job there's at least 20 that are Underpaid, bad work, bad company etc or some combination of all it. I also believe that a lot of guys stay put because they're scared of being called a job hopper, have grown complacent and don't care, or have to take care of their family today and can't add the risk.

I don't regret moving at all. I could have gotten the same position title in Chicago. I was more than ready and happy to leave for multiple rey. And I don't plan on going back any time soon.

I'm looking for jobs. Everyday. I took a risk and looked at that risky job in Vegas. That was close to being good for me, but y'all were right. It was too risky. And I shared it with y'all and everyone gave me crap and laughed at me, which is fine rightfully so. FedEx has blown me off, twice. Hogan never called. And if I take another job anywhere but Schneider according to y'all I'm a job hopper and a toxic employee.
