Retired after over 40 years hiring drivers.

99.9% of insurance companies accept ONE at-fault accident for just about every CDL holder.

The glaring red flag for insurance [getting hired anywhere means meeting their criteria] is the reckless charge.

Companies that categorize citations major and minor; reckless is a major sin up there 'leaving the scene' and 'speeding 15mph over'. etc.

Your situation sounds like you could have easily gone to court and ended up with a lesser charge that would have eased finding another position.

Everyone, please take the time to contest your citations, in a situation like the OP meeting with the prosecutor at traffic court can lead to having charges reduced to something more favorable for your MVR record.

    Iamoverit and Thelegend725 Thank this.

Correct. I contested the charge and my case was dismissed. I just wasn’t sure if it would affect hiring very much or not much at all. Thanks for the response.

Check your PSP. It cost $10 & you get the report in seconds of the request.

Pull your PSP like tscottme suggested and add your DAC to the list. Go over them and see what you'll have to deal with officially and go from there.
