I dont see why not, looks just like a K&N filter. I had one on my blazer and ran a lot of gravel roads. Just had to clean it more often and it was fine.

    Hey :
LOL , The Red squirrels are what makes her run .
I had posted some of what I did to my engine on another thread but was cut down pretty hard by some.
    It is C15 6NZ Which is not a 6NZ any more. Oh well. The Cat experts on here got all tied in knots over some of what I said . Anyway ;
The filter is Ok for your truck too.

A normal K&N filter for say a car would have about 4 layers , this filter has I think 5 layers .. The off road filters have like 7 layers and would be too much for an over the road truck.

I installed 2 new Pittsburg Power mufflers and got instant peddle responce and picked up about 1 mpg. Not enough extra noise to whine about.
This new air filter is also helping the air flow through the engine.
    I now have zero lag...
I too live down a dirt road and have farm ground all around me . It can get very dusty at times.

Talk to Steve Rive at Cleer Air and he will give you all you want to know about that filter...
I begged K&N to build me one and they would not Play....

I have seen as much as 8.875 MPG from this truck under perfect conditions.. My over all average runs around 6.7 and some times a little better.
I run mostly North west and pull fairly light loads but almost always am fighting with the head winds.
I plan on dropping in a set of 3.21 rears to get my rpms down some and yet keep my western state speed limits . I have the power to pull them. :biggrin_255:

The following is left with all due respect...

It's time for change; the days of "outlaw" trucking is and should be a thing of the past. The industry is full of professionals and just because you have rules to follow doesn't mean that its bad.

Evolution is a good thing my friend, if we don't question what it is we are doing and how we are doing it and we keep doing the same old way cause "thats the way I've always done it" or "thats the way my "Pappy" done it", we can never improve.

I don't know about you but I don't want to share the road with a bunch of "outlaws" whose only concern is them self. The road belongs to all of us and we need to learn to share it.

If your "outlaw ways" are the best way to conduct yourself, why the changes? Look at the safety ratings for CMV's from the 60"s, 70's or even 10 years ago; the number of accidents involving CMV's has greatly declined while the number of miles driven has greatly increased. These results could not have been achieved without rules.

Rules....none of us really likes them but we all need them, including you.

you know what laws are , they are fears nothing more and the stats do not imo justify the fears I just get tired of every little fear justifying the big brother crap and people will let them as buy in large the are like radio rambos cowards at the core

So I thank my stars for the few outlaws left but have no fear we will be gone before ya know and everyone can think they are safe in there robotic functions of life

    Hey :
    Greetings .
I was not on an out law issue but here we go..
if you are from the 60s or 70s ???? then you of all out here would know ..

When I started back in the day . 1981 I think.. We use dthe CB .. When a truck was on the side of the road it was one call after another . Need Help ??? Are You OK ???
Not anymore. You said the outlaws only concern was for himslef ?????
I guess I did not see it that way..

How far do the have to go before all truckers and drivers would unit ?
    95% tax rates ? No labor laws concerning the truckers ? {Which is what we already have}

Outlaws ??? It is my guess that maybe just maybe some do not even understand what we mean by "outlaw"....
It appears as if they think the outlaws never use log books, always run way over the speed limits , always run over weight etc..

I happen to be somewhat proud of being an outlaw myself..
Last log book ticket was over 15 years ago..
last speed ticket was over 21 years ago.
    No over weight tickets...
    Never had an accident.
Bought an paid for 5 trucks now and working on number 6.

Outlaw ?? I ran Gypsi for 3 years back in the 80s and never had a big problem... Their system was screwed up not mine. 3 years with the same plate . paid fines when I did get stopped. Total fines were less then one years plates. Let alone permits.

That was then and now is now. I no longer do these things but would if I could.
Deregulation made trucking what it is now. Not outlaws....
It put cheap companies on the map and that is what happened.
They did not and still do not care about their drivers..

Improve ?? We did ... Most of the old outlaws are the ones running the big trucks with real engines still in them. And are still the ones that know how to make a buck doing it.
They are the ones that have survived all enconomies.. Good and bad.
Most companies are in it till they start to go down hill , then bail out and leave their drivers sitting on the road with no way home.

And about sharing the road ? Well glad you brought that one up..
Used to be the 4 wheelers we had to watch out for.
Now we have to watch out for them and the new breed of mill drivers too.
The ones that still don't know where the turn signals are or how to use them, The ones that drive 20 to 30 miles per hour through truck stop parking lots.
The new breed that can not speak english at the fuel desk. And nose in park because they can not back in . They wait till morning when every one else is gone then leave. They wear flip flops instead of work boots.

Kind of like the are on vacation...

As far as the industry being full of "Professionals" ????
Where did you see one ?
I have been looking around but the count is going down not up..
If you are calling the above described drivers pros. I guess I would have to differ with you on that one. And that MY FRIEND IS WHAT IS OUT THERE.

The safety issue you speak of has nothing to do with the new breed of drivers at all.
It has more to do with the new trucks that are much more capable of stopping faster then ever befrore. Much better roads then ever before,
tires are better, just about all aspects of the truck itself are safer.
So even though I beleive many drivers today have a better attitude then years ago which in turn may make them somewhat safer , I still would say more credit would go to the trucks then the drivers.

The next time we get a good snow storm , take a survey...
How many old outlaws are laid on their sides or in that ditch..
How many mill drivers are ???
No CB ... They have no idea what they are headed for. Kind of like watching bugs fly into a bug zapper.

You have a good one and take it easy on us old outlaws.. Just may be one of us that pulls your butt out some day. We still have the guts to get involved. :biggrin_25520:

I think my safty rating is pretty good in 23 years Ive only had 1 minor accident and that was 15 years or more ago.

Ive got safe driving awards, but yes Ive had a few speeding tickets mostly from Ohio back before the speed limit changed. but then they weren't much.

Yes my truck will run 125 but if you run around at that speed all the time you wont do it long, However I don't have the worry of the 10 mile pass like most company trucks do, I get out around and out of the way and don't monopolize the hammer lane.

It just takes common sense there's a time and place you can get away with it, but with as many vehicles on the road today there's not many.

But if I need to make up time and there's little traffic and law in the words of my day "ROD KNOCKER BABY!!!".

    Hey ;
Glad to see some seat time backing me up.
I seems clear to me that the outlaws on here have,
    #1 less trouble with tickets,
    #2 less accidents,
    #3 way more road savy.

They also understand what more new rules do .
20,000 gun laws on the books and they are still adding them. None of them made any of you any safer.
What will be any different here ?

Just more ways to legally collect revenue over piddly crap that makes no real difference in anything in the real world.

To get a O/O position with most companies one must have at least 2 years over the road experiance.
Or you can {Lease Train and Drive} with 2 to 6 weeks ..
Which one would you hire. ???????????

If safety is the issue , Which one would likey be the biggest RISK ??????

Anyone that does not know the answer to this is a Lease Train and Drive OR >>>>>>>STUPID....

Go ahead chew on me now ... Any argument is invalid. :biggrin_2559:

Sometimes the only way to prove that a law, rule or regulation is invalid or unreliable is to follow it to the letter. In the final analysis, does it accomplish its' intended purpose? If it does, what are the adverse consequences of its' success? Does the end justify the means?

    Hey :
Well we all followed the stupid Brady Bill and they finally found that it made no difference and had NO {Zero} effect on Crime...

They canned it.. That was 1..... Can any one name one more ...
I like to think I keep up on these things pretty good. I can not think of any other totally useless law {of which there are many} that we have ever really gotten rid of. Even after they found it to be totally worthless and totally ineffective.. We just lived with it any way.

The NRA protected their members .. So , who in the trucking industry will stand up for truckers. ??? The ATA ???? HA !!!!!!!!

They are why we have all this crap coming at us now. How many company drivers work for a company that supports the ATA ????

So , In fact , the very ones complaining about all this are the ones supporting it by working for companies that support this kind of crap.

Without Swift and many other big companies paying the bills at the ATA we would not have any of this going on to start with.

Who actually sits back and dreams up stuff like CSA 2010 ??? You likely really don't want to know. You may actually work for them.

The 14 hour rule jammed up truck stops by 6 pm every day of the week.
Most of those drivers in there are not even close to their 14 hours.
It created a more dangerous situation on the road than we ever had before. Before we could pull off and take a 4 hour nap.. Not now.

What do the signs say on the toll roads about when most accidents happen ??? Just after eating , Don't eat !!! between 11 am and 2 pm , don't drive in that time frame. This would seem to cure it all.
But don't pull over and nap , because you are done for that day now.

It must have taken a real brainiac to come up with that one.
Has anyone taken the time to actually count the number of rules for an over the road trucker. ????

And yet we have many on here that say the new rules will not infringe on any of our freedoms. May be true for that swift driver that has no freedom any way. Do this , do that , go here then go there, or just sit and wait till we need you. OR ELSE.... Get out of our truck ...

Better be wearing a big badge and a gun to order me out of my truck.

There is a difference. It was already said.. More:banghead: Rules are for and from those who fear us. Not for us. :biggrin_25523:
