I received my next load — preplan. I did fail to mention that each driver is preplanned 99% of the time the day before their current load delivers.

Great idea to start this thread! If I ever get the desire to go OTR again, Holland would be at the top of the list.

I agree — and to be honest I think I’ve maybe have had to do three re-powers my entire time with the company.
Another thing is — as you already know — is that we don’t do a lot DNH . Which I rather enjoy. I rather be married to the same trailer for weeks or months at a time, since most of our customers don’t take more than a an hour or two to load us.CalculatedRisk, hotrod1653, bryan21384 and 4 others Thank this. -
Driver facing cams?
What condition of truck did they put you in when you started?
Get in to Michigan at all?IWX6279 Thanks this. -
What is the pay there for detention? Breakdown?
If driver-facing cams -- do they pay extra for that (if so -- what)?
What are the available tractor brands? As an incoming driver -- does one get a choice?
OR -- are you stuck with whatever steed is then available?

No driver facing camera.
You have a choice, FL or FL. -
No front facing cameras.
The truck I was issued was professionally detailed and assigned to me prior to coming to orientation. There was only 3 of us in orientation.
My truck was kept inside the shop with a thank you package in the sleeper, which included a Holland branded blanket, hat and T-shirt and some snacks.
The truck I was assigned is a 2024 and had 99k on it when I got it.
I would say Holland is anal when it comes to their equipment — which is fine with me— I have never had a breakdown either. Reefer or power unit.
I’ve only had one trailer tire blow out since I’ve been with the company . I would say Holland has one of the best uptimes in the industry.
Holland does go to Michigan, however, I’ve only been there twice.ncmickey, Speedy356, bryan21384 and 6 others Thank this. -

I can vouch for whats being said here. Im a driver for Holland as well almost 3 years now. I really enjoy it and love the long miles and way your treated. Btw the trucks are all Freightliner Cascadias and traded after about 3 yrs or at 430000-450000 miles (proof you run really good). Im in a 2023 now and getting a new 2026 probably next month.
As for Michigan being so central its odd ive only been there once in three years, and also in that time the only state of the 48 contiguous states i havent been to is Maine. Another nice thing you can pretty much take your time off at any location you want just get it approved, ive never had an issue yet.
The important thing for me is they allow passengers and pets from day one just with a reasonable deposit.Northern Nomad, Gearjammin' Penguin, IWX6279 and 7 others Thank this.
