I'm no naval architect, but it seems like such a yacht would be given a buoyancy test before being handed over to its buyer.
-
It sunk about 15 minutes after leaving drydock.Flat Earth Trucker Thanks this.

Might have something to do with such a large yacht being valued only at $1 million. It was launched off a dirt hill in Turkey.
Carpenter Scotty, Concorde and Flat Earth Trucker Thank this. -
I’m a boat builder by trade, worked for Boston Whaler R&D. Biggest project I worked on was the Boston Whaler Temptation.
Lived next to the guy who built this concrete schooner in his driveway, lol. Donated some time working on it towards the final years of completion. Was a sight to see..all the hand carved woodwork was just incredible..
Unfortunately she ended up sinking a few years later in a hurricane.

When I first watched the video, the first thought I had was the yacht looks & is moving as if it's very top heavy.Carpenter Scotty and Flat Earth Trucker Thank this.
-
It wasn't even fitted out yet. Lots of heavy stuff would have been put well above the center of gravity, raising it even more.Carpenter Scotty, Flat Earth Trucker and Chinatown Thank this.
