They claimed that pre pass was raising their rates on Tmc. Tmc didn't want to pay it. I think it was a cost cutting thing. I didn't mind too much rolling through the scales, but hated stopping to pay tolls and then trying to get reimbursed.
-
they probably didn't have the money to continue ez pass you need to prepay 45 days worth of tolls and a big company that runs the northeast that would be a lot of money

JimmyBones Thanks this.

I didn't think Carter Beauford would need to drive a truck with the drumming chops...Next thing you know Virgil Donati will be my dispatcher.

Ok, from what I've read, you have worked for one trucking company, not including the family run company. Not sure how big the family business was, but if you were working for family, it's a little different than with a large company. Most everything you said, with the exception of EZPASS, could be said for any large company.
I've work for one small family owned company and two large companies. The two large companies were pretty much the same, with some various differences in policies etc. The family company was, in some ways, worse, and some ways better.
Before saying that TMC is a shady company, go work for another mega or mid range carrier and you will discover that it is mostly the same stuff, different day, different name on the truck. -
pulled a dry van for 2 days and so far I miss flatbed, never really hauled van freight before so it will take some getting used to. haven't ruled out going back to flatbed but the pay and hometime will be hard to turn down at the new company. they actually respect that their drivers have a life. -
Look there two days of pulling a dryvan and he is complaining about missing all that work he was ######## about pulling a flatbed. Ive been with TMC for 2 years now and have no major issues. All the companies out there have there good and bad. You just have to find one that has what you need/want out of a company.
SCNewbie, andrew5184 and gkhubb Thank this. -
It certainly is NOT acceptable to me. Yeah, I've put up w/a glob of crap for the past couple of years in hopes of landing a decent gig. I'd (at the very first) hoped TMC would be it, because I'm not a "job-hopper", but now that I see how they operate... Well, I'll be looking to move on to greener pastures, so to speak, pretty soon.
