I forgot to mention. I've put a bit over 50k on my lease truck. Zero issues to speak of and I've average 8.5 since I got the truck. 9.2 mpg so far in October

 

Conservative driving practices probably help those numbers. I'm not at full throttle until 7th or 8th gear. I start off slowly, especially with a heavy load, and make my way up to speed at my own pace

Depends on where you're at. Some places enforce it and some don't.

 

Depends on where you're at, and/or what kind of truck they have. Up in Duluth, MN area we were charging 300/hour for truck and trailer. I heard others with rotators wouldn't leave the yard for less than $1500. And I have heard all kinds of stories about guys being towed 5 miles and getting $4500 tow bills. We've recovered overturned equipment for less than that.

 

So is freight really that slow or just poor planning? Second load in a row where I've left my delivery without getting a plan for next load.

 

Oh I know. Most dont anymore hence the amazement.

 

After a wonderful week of hometime, back to the truck I go.

Other than my 4 years of hauling bread out of the Knoxville bakery, this will be my first ever load hauled out of Knoxville.


Got a cheapnheavy from Knoxville TN going to Sterling IL delivering to a Walmart dc.

 

Parked my truck at the yard this morning and pulled into town about 45 minutes ago. I'll be back out Sunday morning with an ACT to West Jefferson turn. I'll be staying out until my RTO on the 24th

I have to go to the county building to do business with the tag office tomorrow morning. Thankfully i was smart this time and made an appointment so I don't have to stand in line forever
