My day so far:

That is a big patch of engine oil that should be in my engine.
As you can see, however, it is not.
Either I blew a gasket or the oil pan plug somehow managed to come loose. Was only an hour away from delivery, too.

Or the seal from the old filter stuck to the engine and the idiot forgot to remove it before installing the new one.
But that should make itself known rather quickly.Lonesome, runningman0661 and navypoppop Thank this. -
Turns out that a drainage hose came loose. So not as bad as a blown gasket, but the shop naturally wants to check the engine just in case they can charge Knight more money there's been any actual damage to it.Friend, Knucklehead, MACK E-6 and 2 others Thank this.

Spent five nights in the hotel, and thought I would be getting the truck back last night. But it seems that the shop did indeed discover more expensive things to repair. Therefore my truck will spend another week or three in the shop getting the engine rebuilt, and I am currently hitching a ride from another Abilene driver to Rockford, IL, where I will pick up a loaner.
Friend, Knucklehead, Lonesome and 1 other person Thank this. -
Im still here, SAIA P&D fell through, hired someone else. Truck had electrical issues so they sent me with another driver to johnson city, tn to pickup a new volvo at the dealer there that had a coolant leak apparently. Moved into it, left corner bumper damaged where the previous driver had scraped a wall or curb and left convex mirror had damage where previous driver pushed too hard to adjust it. Body shop did what they could to straighten the corner bumper piece. New Volvos are stuck at 68 and got the battery powered hvac so truck will only idle at certain temps. Should cut down on def system issues. Storage sucks but I made it work, it is slightly bigger interior than the 760 I was in. Contacted the VA about using VR&E to get my master’s in electrical/computer engineering. Had orientation for the program and waiting for the shutdown to end to get a counselor assigned to me. Gonna try and stick it out til my degree is done and leave the industry entirely while I still can being my back can’t handle the beating and don’t want a third surgery.
ExtremeUnction, Finfn1372, Rugerfan and 3 others Thank this.
