Anybody else get that email from them? Something about a new registration system? I have no idea what they're talking about.

Motus is just a company that helps drivers keep track of their miles and expenses when they use their own vehicle for work stuff. They’ve got apps that do the logging automatically so you get paid right for the miles you put in.

If you’re getting an email from FMCSA mentioning Motus, it’s probably about making sure drivers are following rules for tracking mileage or logging hours. FMCSA doesn’t run Motus, but sometimes they talk about these tools since a lot of drivers use them to stay on the up and up.

I know they issued a warning concerning phishing emails. Some using Motus as a front or something....

Carriers can start next year if they want, sure at some point will be required.
    Insurance/bonds companies can start now.
Step 1: Supporting Companies Create Profiles in Motus
Starting next week, transportation service providers, blanket companies (BOC-3 filers), and financial responsibility filers (insurance/surety companies and other financial institutions) will have limited access to Motus to create user and business profiles.

This action will ensure supporting companies are prepared to continue delivering essential services to industry when the new system opens for all registrants in 2026.

Please Note: After creating profiles, supporting companies must continue to make filings in FMCSA’s current systems until these functionalities are introduced in Motus.

Step 2: Motus Opens for All Users
In 2026, all customers, including new and existing registrants, will be able to access the system and take advantage of enhanced, user-friendly registration tools and information.

    Step 3: Continuous Improvement
FMCSA will continue to release additional functionalities and collect feedback to identify new refinements and enhancements.

Does not matter, you have to look at the hidden header of the email to see where it actually came from.

I understand what is going on, I am just countering the statement "It's a legit .gov address" by saying that even if it has a .gov in the address does not mean it is coming from the FMCSA. The header of the email shows most of the time where it comes from.
