Why do you guys even bother with prepass? Going through (or around) the scale is not a big deal.

Mainly because that time could be as much as 30 mins or more in an 11 hour day not to mention that every time you stop you can watch your fuel mileage go down. It is a small price to pay for the long run savings you receive.

Everybody who wants to buy (or lease) a truck needs to memorize this post!

It may be the most succinct, intelligent advice on this site.

Prepass is a convenience I don't believe it saves enough to pay for itself. I have had and use one for years, but as far as savings. it doesn't.

You also have to qualify for them. If you have a reasonable (the company that is) safety record.

Now thats funny Prepass charges are a flat rate now, not per pass. Another PRIME HIGH DOLLAR RIP-OFF. Those dirty ########.....

How about don't work for them if they rip you off. The trucking industry is based on stealing from the driver alway has, always always will.

Where they make there really money is off mileage. They get 1.75 to 3.00 per mile and give you 90 cents.

Get you own truck, authority, and stay out of Canada (They can starve as far as I care) and you will make it if you put in the effort....

    Huh?

Prime doesn't pay "mileage" - it's a percentage of linehaul and all of the collected fuel surcharge. Of the loads I've pulled this year, only a couple were below $1/mile when you figured it out. Only us folks on the company side get paid by the mile.

The 95 cpm that's been mentioned was the bare minumum they guarantee no matter what.

Gee... it's worked for me. I suppose if I was whining like the rest of you guys about EVERYTHING, then I'd be ok, huh?

    Or maybe it's just y'all are a bunch o' mama's boys...
