Did you go L/O? Oh I forgot. Prime has you primed and trained to think that it is normal to charge you for things like load locks, pay stubs, flatbed securement stuff. I have never in my life heard of a co charging co drivers for things a co should pay for and the drivers defending them over it?????:biggrin_2556:

I like how he thinks it's normal and OK to be charged $15 a week to be given a settlement report. I get mine for free, every week.

I also like how as soon as i say anything bad about prime, he has to start talking #### about werner. Why would that even hurt me? I laughed my ### off when I read his post.

And then he talks down to you like you're an idiot, and well....Maybe I am, but I know you aren't....infact, that offended me more than what he said to me, because you're one of very few people on here that I actually look up to... ;)

It does not matter call it percentage or mileage, the formula is not really so different. Prime takes it cut off the top, the "owner operator" bare's the expense keeping the Prime expense level vs cost very low.

From a business point of view its a good formula, as far as becoming a truck owner , its very low odd's.

Are there happy Prime drivers, Yes. No matter what your doing you will find someone that will be good with it. Is it good for most, Check out there turn over rate, that will give you a clearer picture.

As for me make payment on your truck, so that in the end you will give me a small percentage back and call it a bonus, Well its not for me there is apparently alot whom are at lease ok with it.

Don't let it get to you. By all means don't worry about me. I am a big boy and can handle myself. I do appreciate the compliment tho. I been dealing with yardbirds for a long time...:biggrin_25523: That is what gets me about prime. Most who go there and get their CDL through them are told this is normal for the trucking industry, and they don't know any better, but what really cracks me up is things he posts like prime charging us for load locks teaches us to take better care of them....:biggrin_2559: The more you drive the less naive you are suppose to be about things..... I am waiting for company drivers having to foot the fuel bill and the defense post of prime is doing us a favor by teaching us to be more responsible in trip planning and idling....:biggrin_25523:

Lots of good information in this thread. From both sides of the fence. C'mon drivers - lets keep the name calling on channel 19 where it belongs! Getting back to the subject of prepass I believe that each time it gets "pinged" when you go by it registers an electronic fingerprint that better match up with your log...

Actually, yes. Chowchilla River Enforcement facility on Highway 99 and the Santa Nella platform scales on Interstate 5, bit not often.

As far as can't inspect you if you don't drive thru the scale. Was this really posted by a driver ???? I have been inspected in Az, and Ut on the side of the road. In CA in Rest Areas, And in a truckstop The Old Giant on I40 stop in New Mexico..... They can pretty much inspect you almost anywhere.

I remember meeting a prime lease op once. He told me he can't afford to ever go home because then he cant make his truck payment. I said, how can you live like that? He says, you just dont understand an owner operator..

I understand an owner operator...drove with one. guy stayed out 3 months took 1 month off...lol..

Read my ####### explanation. Heres your sign. You think i've never been inspected on the side of the road? I'm just sayin...it's not as awfully convenient if you arent inside the TRAP known as a scalehouse.

Prepass is also great when you run overweight in states that dont have scales in the road...hahahahaha... ;)

Yes he did. This week in fact.

I bought 2 load locks. Haven't bought another yet without being re imbursed. 90 percent of the time I find extra load locks in trailers I hook to.

Sometimes I go through em all leaving them in sealed trailers. When I do, I just notify my FM and I'm reimbursed for new ones either purchased on the road or signed out from the terminal.

Yeah, so they require a heavy duty padlock set before leaving the yard too. Doesn't stop some of our idiot drivers from not using the locks and having chicken stolen out of their trailer while they are paying for a scale ticket. True story.

Dummys following GPS like it's the gospel and getting huge fines for being where they aren't supposed to be.

That Pawtucket bridge with the huge fine? Yeah, well any dispatched load that even comes close to the area is immediately followed by a message from Prime bright as day giving warning and consequences that a two year old can understand.... Unfortunatly we have drivers that ignore em, and how they miss the actual numerous HUGE signs in the area is beyond me.

It burns me up. I shouldn't care but for myself, but I do.

Anyway... More miles and more time off in 2010 than last year.
