Rachi, did you dispatch on that Carson run? They offered it to me, I accepted it, then was told it canceled. Did it cancel on you or did you do the repower?
I've been working for Marten for just over 6 weeks. I have had one respectable week of running out of the 5 weeks with my truck. One of those weeks was orientation. I'm on the Upper Midwest Regional Board, it sux! If I were to have to grade Marten on it's ability to fulfill what it advertises, they would receive a failing grade. My weekly mileage average is 495 miles short of their claimed average. I've spoken to Dan Parker and Lyle about it. The week following my conversation with them was fantastic. It's been crap ever since that week.
Overall, Marten is a major bust, so far. 25% fulfillment of what they advertise is a failing grade, no matter how you stack it!
I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND MARTEN TO ANYONE!
Unless things turn around real quick, fast and in a hurry, Marten will be a former employer of me and I will light them up on the forums. There is no need to exaggerate about their poor performance. The numbers speak for themselves. Marten, up to this point sux 75% of the time. :biggrin_25510:

River, Im on that carson run. Im going to swap it in the morning for that crappy load down to houston area. There was probally more then one load going from murfreesboro to carson,ca. and Skibum, I never except swaps from the night or weekend dispatchers unless its something i would like, but i dont have the balls to turn a swap down from my regular F.M cause im thinking i would be on her S### list.:tongueSTARS2:

Well if you don't have the balls, you can now most likely expect to see more of these un fair swaps happening. You have to stand up to your dispatcher, don't let the desk jocky cheat you out of good miles.

Haven't heard it, is it on xm/sirius? if so, what channel? I may make an exception and call after the ad and include my own personal disclaimer. I've been driving for 8 years and I'm tired of these companies lying their tails off to bring in strong runners, only to burn them out on frustration. Marten's biggest problem is a lack of genuine leaders. They hire the hell out of managers, but never enhance their management skills with true leadership. The follow up on delegation of authority is non-existent. My current dm sounds like I just woke him up from a nap every time I talk to him. I envision him wearing Birkenstocks and a tie dyed t-shirt, with a little scruffy beat nick goatee. His attitude is like he's too cool for the room. If that lame ### tells me "That's trucking" one more time, I'm gonna b1tch slap him to the moon. He's never p/u'd or delivered a single piece of freight in his life, unless it was from a head shop or his local dealer. He loves to argue with me over what good freight is..... like he'd have a clue! The arrogant jack ###. I suppose I'll have to write Lyle again, this time chastising him for a lack of follow up on his lack of follow up, lol. Where have all the true leaders gone? Every one whom I've talked to, that has been at marten for more than 3 years misses Randy's leadership tremendously. I've not met him, but have heard he was all about the drivers, respected our sacrifice and put his money where his mouth is. They may be glorifying him a bit, but he couldn't have done a whole lot worse than the lemming running the show currently.
I'm so frustrated with the lack of communication and general disrespect towards me as a driver, I'd like to leave this truck in a deep, water filled ditch and tell them to "go fish". I won't of course, but it's an appealing thought that keeps repeating in my head. The only consistency they've shown me is that they are constantly poor at doing their job and fulfilling what they advertise. MARTEN IS A JOKE! THEY'RE THE NEW SWIFT!:biggrin_25510:

I did forget to mention that the driver im swapping with is trying to get home, and when im trying to get home, other drivers help me out. You got to give a little to get a little. In my case my Fm gets me pretty good runs.I mostly ##### on here about load planners and the e log, but i don't sit alot, she keeps me moving pretty good. Things could be better, like no forced perdiem, practial miles, etc, but overall Im still o.k. with marten. :biggrin_25525:
