Man, I love those multi-stop loads. Seriously, I think they're fun. I just never seem to get those assignments.
And, to stay on topic, I'm in Atlanta with only one stop on my delivery tomorrow. -
Hey henley
Haven't seen you since you were getting your truck out of the impound lot. How did that turn out???
Anyway to get back on track hubby is in Amarillo getting a new headlight on his way to Co with a load of beer. -
I am in black river falls, wi. on my way to Vancouver with stops in billings and helena.

Just finished a 10 stop furniture/carpet load out of SLC thru UT, WY, and CO. I no longer dropped the trailer than the dispatcher was calling me letting me know he had something else lined up! Mattresses headed Denver to Great Falls, MT. So....
7/29/10 -- Cheyenne, WY at the Flying hook restarurant is now a Dennys, but one of the nicest ones I've been in.... -
Left Ft Collins this morning headed to Kalispel

How do you folks charge for the multi stops?? Please be SPECIFIC.
The "red book" says $5.00 per stop plus something in the neighborhood of $.40 to $.50 per pc. hand unloaded. Someone a few pgs back said they made $160.00 extra pay for their stops. I'm having a hard time seeing where the multi-stops, with all the effort to find some little podunk downtown retail outlet and then back into the #### thing, is worth what the company seems prepared to compensate the driver for what often is a considerable amount of extra time.
I worked for USXpress this spring and they paid $20 for the first stop, $35 for the second, and $50 for the third and any additional stops afterwards.
There was additional compensation for any hand unloading.
On the back of the trip pak, do you list how much you expect to be paid for each stop or do you let the office determine that amount when they review the trip paks?
Any light that can be shed on this would be greatly appreciated by a new W/S driver. Thanks. -
7/30/10 -- Great Falls, MT, at the Pilot/Town Pump waiting to unload my mattresses tomorrow AM. Got the QC today that I have another load all lined up already! Flour from here to Sacramento, PU Sunday, DEL Wednesday..sounds like a reset is in there someplace for me....

The only time it is beneficial for a driver at WKSH to take a multi stop trip is when that trip originates from the Conover, NC terminal. Freight stops out of that terminal pay $20 per stop, no matter how many pieces u unload at each of those stops. Therefor, with a little common sense u can see that more stops not only equals more money, but less furniture to touch at each stop. I usually leave conover with 20 stop loads of furniture and make 400 dollars on the stops alone, plus my mileage pay!! If you calculate the time that you can do one of these trips in, they are the biggest money trips that you can take with WKSH. I often have 3000 miles with 20 stops. That equals a payday of 1255 dollars for that trip alone. With that said, avoid multi stop trips from any other terminal if at all possible when it comes to furniture. The trips are usually 5 stops or less and you only make small amounts of money. The breakdown is this.... 1-5 pieces gets you 10 bucks. 6-37 gets you 15 bucks. More than that and you get .40 per piece, which usually doesn't equal more than about 20 dollars. As for the trip envelope, you should notate each stop on the back and go ahead and calculate how much each stop is worth in dollars and write that on there. Never put your money in the hands of WKSH payroll. They WILL burn you 9 times out of 10. Hope that helps a little.....
This is my first post on here, so let me say Hello! Driving here sinse Dec. 24, 2009. Went through 10 day orientation in Montana. Ran teams for several months, then went to another company, came back and ran teams again, and now run solo OTR out of Conover, NC.Poobah Thanks this. -
Granted they pay more from Conover but depending on what is in the load it can add up pallets or pieces and such.
Welcome to the forum, I wish you the best of luck.Poobah Thanks this.
