Hey, ironpony hows things going? Talked to Silvia today about school, I was planning to go to school here in MD. Now I don't know if I should do Primes school or the local community college. Any suggestions? Do you get to pick reefer, flatbed, or tanker? Is it picked for you? Are you getting good miles? I see alot of Floral trucks here in MD is that something special? Thanks ahead of time.

I would go to Prime's school if you had a choice, although I may be a bit biased as one of the instructors
. At Prime you will get at least 100 hours of one on one driving with an instructor while dealing with actual customers. As far as divisions go, there is a checkbox on your application for which division you want to go to, and if you don't like the one you pick, it usually isn't hard to change as long as you live in the hiring area for the division you want to go to.
The miles I have been running has picked up lately, I'm getting between 27-3500 a week right now, and had a 4100 mile week last month.
The floral trailers you're seeing are regular Prime trailers with special graphics on them to advertise our floral distribution business.MD STEELERS FAN Thanks this. -
Thanks sazook. Does the student do all the driving or like a team? What division are you? Do you run all 48? Is there any hometime during the whole training process? Do you know if there is alot freight in MD? Is there perdiem? Do you have to take it? Thanks again for answering. Might have more questions if thats all right. Don't mind your bias opion thats better for me to talk to an actual instructor.

One of ya all will have to show me that 4100 miles in 1 week - logging trick !!!!
AZ CATS Thanks this. -
I look at averages between 2 and 4 weeks to compensate for this... otherwise a 2200 miles week looks poor when the following week is 3600 is super, only because you may have picked up on the previous week and delivered on the following weeks check... avg is about 2900 per week with this scene.
Mine are good, but a little wacked out as I am team training, we both took hometime recently, additionaly my trainee went home for a few days for a funeral while I ran solo... AND we got stuck with a long distance Hazmat load that only I could run and my trainee was a passenger because he doesn't have Hazmat. He got paid the miles and I got a little extra cash and anextra day at home for the trouble.
So posting my averages right now isn't really indicative of what teams are running... I will however post them early Sept as we are running full blast the next 5 weeks before I take more hometime. -
Thanks for the explanation !!

15 mph and over is a serious offense by trucking standards and has been for a good while. The time limit will vary from company to company.
