I had an 8v92 in this. Drove it over 500K, including almost 3 years OTR. Would I do it again? Not even if I could get the same drugs I was getting then.

 

something you might consider. back when the truck was new, truck drivers were still truck drivers, and alot of old guys put a ton of miles on them, fed a family, and raised a generation of spoiled candy ###es who didn't amount to a pimple on a real truck drivers backside. the first truck i drove had no air conditioning (from the factory) no power steering, and no front brakes (it was legal back then). in 2 years i put 206,000 on that truck and my kids ate, had a roof over their heads, and mom could stay home to raise them. i ran east coast mountains and backed into places that truck was never intended to go, and did so without power steering.

yeah.......... it was work. yeah, i wasn't always comfortable. none of us were. the thing is, we didn't cry about it, as it was just part of what we did. as for making money? well, it's gonna get about 5 m.p.g. nomatter what, ain't gonna cost much to insure, and will make the same money as a new large car. unlike the large car, if something stupid expensive blows up, take yer stuff out and hitch a ride home!

 

Everything you wrote is pretty much the gospel as I see it except it will be more like 4 mpg.

I am flat out spoiled & proud to admit it, by things like power steering, A/C that works, air ride, a sleeper I can sit down in..............................................

 

hey did you go and look at the truck? or did you find anything else? give a update..
