OK folks, I gotta get ready now. Shower up and get packed in case this truck is as ready to roll as I am...(he kneels and prays).
I sure hope it's not too long before I can touch base with y'all again. Just know that if you don't hear from me, it's because I can't, not because I don't want to.....![]()

So I talked with Kenny and he figures to pick me up at about 1100 to take me to my truck. I also talked with dispatch and they'll try to get me a load headed back to Conover and then maybe they can get me worked back toward home from there.sammycat Thanks this. -
Blue Screen Thanks this.

Look at that. Positive results already.
An event like this has to include truckers, families, wannabes, and visitors. But if it's going to succeed, it'll take money. So truck manufacturers and companies that support the trucking industry will have to be invited to participate. That would also have to include transportation companies. It's important not to take on the look of a trade show, but to maintain the family and friends atmosphere. For the sake of money we can't lose sight of what it's supposed to be about or who we are.
TTR must get top billing. The event has to be attractive to the trucking industry so that they would be willing to attend and transportation companies can be there so they can scout for talent, but the main ingredient MUST BE, truckers' families and friends.
Maybe what I envision is liken to a country fair. It's focus is on fun, some entertainment (not sure what that would be yet), and maybe some vendors that can offer food, beverages, goodies....that kind of thing. A minimal charge for rental space should subsidize the required funding.
What the #&@$ is in this coffee?????
Anyway, that's what I see. It'll need money to succeed. There are a lot of little expenses that will need to be taken care of.sammycat, twinrose and difference-maker Thank this. -

Yes it would take money and like Chris said he has done something in the past with his bike to raise money for charity. Maybe when he has some down time you and he can get your heads together????
OF course the crack forum (sorry TTR but it's as addicting as crack!!) should get top billing! HEAR that MODS!!
It is amazing that an internet forum forms such a 'family!'Wedge Thanks this. -
Going off Chris's suggestion to meet at Iowa 80...they have a "Jamboree" there every year. http://iowa80truckstop.com/trucker-jamboree Not sure if this is what you had in mind, but it might be something you could piggyback off of to get started. Getting an event off the ground is the most difficult part and this might help you.

Hey guys, I had an idea to make up some t-shirts that said "Truckers Report" on them. I thought I could customize each one with everyone's forum name. That way when you go to a truck stop or are out and about if there is another forum member they will know who you are. Would be a really cool way to meet all of you guys out there. I sent a pm to "Wiseone" about the idea but never heard anything back from him. Anybody else think this is a good idea? Would anyone wear these?
