Remember too, the hazmat requires a background check that can take a few weeks. Best to get that in the works in your home state before leaving for orientation.

 

True I have to go down and take all my written tests some time this week or next. I will get everything started. I am waiting on the certified copy of my birth certificate to get here I think the ex wife ended up with the original in the divorce. Hoping it gets here quick so I can give my notice with current employer and get started back on the road. Been 13 years and about 12 years and 11 months too long.

If you already have a TWIC your hazmat background check should be easier. I have a secret military clearance and mine took me 7 weeks!!!

 

Question. A friend of mine wants to join me in Orientation with the prospect of driving team. I really want to go solo, however, he is a good friend. However, he does suffer from manic-depression(bipolar) issues. He is on meds, hasn't had any relapses, no side affects, no periods of mania, depression since on meds, is compliant and doesn't affect him driving. Doesn't get drowsy etc. Would Prime or DOT regs prevent him from Driving. I have researched DOT and I've found it to state as long has he is "clear" from his Dr. to drive, passes the DOT physical, there isn't an issue. Just your thoughts?

 

call a prime recruiter and ask. if they dont know they will get a answer for you.I applied for my twic thru prime and i get a call weeks later and they(twic) told me i had to pick it up in granite city il. has anyone else gone thru this? i figured that i could at least pick it up at prime or they would send it to my house. when i talked to a lady at the twic office they said they do not send thru the mail. how in the hell do they expect me to go there anytime soon?

 

Hey Mav.... I just talked to my recruiter this afternoon. Asked about being on Adderall for ADD, because according to FMCSA all I need is the note from the Doc. She tells me, "no way, automatic go home time" They can go above and beyond the federal rules if they like.

At least I can stop taking it, I don't really need it.

Now I just need to figure out when I should go to Mo.

 

Yeah I am figuring out when to go to SPRIMO myself. I just wanted to ask around for my friend. I sent an email to the recruiter and asked. I'll see what she says. Worst case scenario is that I'll just go by myself. In all honesty, I rather run solo anyways. Thanks again.
