Flatbed/Open Deck/Machinery Haulers

    $1.69 as a company driver don't sound bad. Sounds like a joke for an O/O. That's like a cheap load of lumber.

    Guys let me explain.

    My drivers dont get out of the bed for less than 2.30 a mile to the truck (loaded)

    1.69 is all miles traveled. Including all deadhead (Every single mile put on the truck). And thats not bad.

    I've heard some stories about it but there's a lot of guys that still haul it so I guess they're not going broke doing it. Not something I want to mess with.

    Don't think it is typically hauled on any kind of open deck trailer

    onions watermelons potatoes
    They haul produce on flats on in the far west coast that way.
    Running from the fields to the packing house..

    I know I'm being a smart arse now.

    they do onions all the time where i live, lemons,oranges avocado and strawberries but they pack them into the boxes on the field so its just a matter of getting into a cooler

    Geez & I thought the dude from Miller hijacked the thread. Now we are talking about hauling fruit on open deck trailers. What's next? Livestock?
