Just wait till you have your first fire to go in on as lead. Or the first full arrest as the medic or even the first call as the medic. They are not easy either, but make the wrong decision and it can be bad.
Just some of the stupid things I see

Anyway, as I said, we were very advanced. We all had "Advanced First Aid" training, never rolled unless we had three people, (driver and two "first aiders.)" We actually had oxygen aboard. I think we may have been the only ambulance in the area that had it.
I'll never forget my first fatal. Drunk pedestrian VS car. Car won of course. -
Hey how about we "unhijack" this thread and give it back to dieselbear!

It's ok Don. Been a slow few weeks. Was out of town on business trip for a few days. Mixed in a long weeken for a camping trip and just had run of the mill stops, nothing I would classify as "stupid". Had a few mentally challenged driver's who thought they were Einstein, but.........they were not. Have seen an increase in the Data Q's the last few weeks. Had one today that the carrier challenges because a guy had a false log book one of the guys I work with conducted. Carrier says the log book was not false because the meal receipt was not the driver's, another driver gave it to him and it was in his truck. Granted it was 3 States away the day before the inspection. However, when my co worker looked at the case file. The driver had 5 toll receipts that showed him driving when he had logged sleeper or off duty. All of those were within 10 hours of the inspection during his so called "10 hour sleeper" just prior to getting stopped. Oooppps. I guess driver did not share these receipts with the carrier.

Had a good one today. Stop a guy this morning for speeding, 19 over the limit on the interstate. I immediately recognize him and he does as well. He says, "I have court with you today." Well dang if he wasn't right, I had court with him for speeding, 24 over, and a false log book. Well guess what, he had another false log book today. Parked him at the truck stop and had to go back and give him a ride to the court house in the afternoon. What are the odds? I told this poor fella that he has the worst luck ever.
