Anyway, good luck to you with Trans Am, and don't let them shoe horn you into a Lease Purchase (trust me, they will try).SheepDog Thanks this. -
As a current COMPANY drvr with TA, listen to Guitar Man. You WILL go broke with them as an L/O. At 21, I doubt you have any business experience and am pretty dang sure that you don't know jack about trucking. I've been out here 2 years now, and maybe I'm a slow learner, but I figure that you ought to have at least 5 yrs before going O/O. That ought to give you the chance to learn what your doing and what your capable of.
There are way to many L/O's going broke with TA cause they don't know what they're doing and because TA just really doesn't give a crap about their drivers. Maybe thats the "mega carrier" way, don't know.
Know that, as far as TA is concerned, you are automatically a thief and incompetant. Thats why they have all these different policies in place. You'll find out tho, that that comes from experience, since the senior staff are thiefs themselves and prove it with their policies.
anyway, good luck and if I can help, let me know.Last edited: Oct 26, 2010

Good luck with your new job with TransAm.
Be safe out there! -
In all fairness, I do have to say, that as a company driver, you can make ok money with them, most of the time. Just don't lease, no matter how attractive they make it sound!!!! And don't believe them, that you can go back as a company driver if it doesn't work out. If they say that, request that you get it , in writing, from Johnny and Russ AND notorized!!!!!
