They had a female officer out there whose stupidity was only exceeded by her arrogance. If she couldn't find something wrong, she'd get mad as hell. She tried to send me on my way one time, while still holding my license. She got really mad when that didn't work out for her.
Working Class Patriot and outerspacehillbilly Thank this. -
I have to do a blog to do this justice and think I told it on another thread when I blew the east/North Knoxville scales and called for the trucks to follow me ramp was full and there was only one truck on the scale. Had about four trucks follow and the fifth guy was weaving trying to decide what to do and chickened out and then was screaming on the radio that ramp was not full trying to call the scales. "Plenty of room on the ramp, they are going by the scales"
Probably the funniest thing I have ever done. I crack up every time I remember it. I fondly remember Mr. Chromed out Billy Big Rigger that chickened out. He was probably never right after that. He had the chance to join a convoy of diesel bear dream truckers and couldn't take the pressure. Was funny funny funny. -

Had a decent one last night. Driver was suspended in another State, not his home State of license issue. When I asked him about it. Yeah, I just got shut down there and another driver drove me across the State line, so now I'm good. Ahhh......................Wrong. Still disqualified and now violating the out of service order as well. Also had 7 previous inspections for the vehicle. The same violations are still present, dating back to July. And to top it off, he is the carrier as well. Driver then asks me, "Is this going to affect my CSA?"

(I will give a thumbs-up to a NY inspector...got a level 2 walk-around this morning. Very professional and even friendly. I got tagged with a license plate light being out...even he described it as nit-picky, but it's on there. No complaints...we kidded about the cold weather coming and he wished me a safe trip.) -
um yeah driver, how about you are out of business, your CDL won't be returned any time soon.
Oh and the part about getting another driver to drive him across the state line................... lie.... I'll bet on it.dieselbear Thanks this. -

Let me ask the driver's on here a question that always has me puzzled. Why would a driver risk his CDL for alcohol? The other day had a driver that was speeding and was or had been drinking. Blew a .07 on the machine. 1/5 of liquor that was half empty. It just puzzles me as to why or what the heck were they thinking?
