No new trucks for me!!

  1. That's funny. The first thing I thought of the first time I saw a ProbeScar was how much they tried to make the dash and steering wheel look like some kind of Toyota car, or something.

It's a truck, it ought to have gauges like a truck, and sit and feel like a truck, not some big inbred looking conglomeration of a hybrid economy car and a poor attempt at a cheap fleet truck.

I will say, though, that the darn sleeper looks like it's got plenty of room in it. I haven't even been back there, since I ran pretty much out and back with it, but at least that looks decent.

Walmart drivers call the Prostars Pornstars because if you get assigned one you are going to get screwed.

I hate when good things get changed to worse things. just like the bright/dim on the autos. right on the floor is where it worked great for years & it never failed. then some idiot designed it to be on the turn signal lever.

That caused a lot of carnage and mayhem on the roads too. With all the blondes getting there leg stuck in the steering wheel and running off the road and all.:biggrin_25523:

These are designed for fleets who run them 500K and throw them away, and not O/Os, I'll stick with the older 379s, KW900s and Western Stars thanks very much. I too am considering buying one of these older trucks and moth balling it in storage, renovate it a little and have it ready for when I need it in a few years because these plastic fantastic pieces of crap ain't gonna get the job done.

  9. I'm seriously considering doing that. My old Freightshaker is still running fine, and I do my best to keep it up. That's why it's in the shop now. I think it's good for a while longer.

I'm thinking of buying an older truck on the cheap and just fixing it up while I'm still running the shaker. When that truck is ready, I'll run it and trade the shaker for another different type of trailer and tell the folks I'm leased to that it's been nice knowing 'ya! :walk:

    Thinking about it.......hmmmmmmmmm.

Yeah this is really stupid because you have to look down with a lighted magnifying glass to find the right button. And the headlight interrupt also ! Stupidest idea anyone came up with having those controls on the steering wheel. I'd rather reach with arms length 1' to the right and flip toggles than have to look for a needle in a haystack on the wheel. Especially at night.
