ok, just read the article. I don't agree with them, the big 5 already have this in place, it would only hurt the O/O's another expense for the small guy.

And that's just a small sample of what they can track.

Once the technology matures, we will see roadway speed sensors - where speeding in designated areas can be cited after the fact.

Brake temps, rollover warnings, following distances, out of routing (bypassing scales), etc ...

Exactly right. Its a business plan by the proponents to shutdown owner ops, mom and pops, and small fleets.. I do believe this. The purpose behind it all is opening up more freight and drivers for these companies (proponents) and making a level playing field for the freight competition. The companies that already have these electronics in effect got $ incentives from the government for installing them I am told. I need to research that a little more but figure it probably is true considering the souces that offered me the info. It will drive you nuts for awhile driving a truck with all the electronics but I did adjust and last for a couple years with them. I like to think I am a very safety minded driver and let that mindset be a reflection of my daily driving habits but it appears imminent government and trucking companies are no longer going to allow drivers to police themselves...it will be done for you. 24/7/365. Not a "sky is falling" type post...just stating what I think is obviously clear for driving in the future. Some would say the future is already here lol.

I hate that word "Mandatory". If they'd leave it alone and just require them for the bad actors, that's one thing. These idiots must have stock in the EOBR equipment companies. Those darn things are pricey from what I've read. It's not in my budget!

I support mandatory use of GPS ankle tracking bracelets for all senators, congress people, and FMCSA emplyees - 24/7/365

These people are far more dangerous to the public, than I have ever been or will be to the public.

Be a waste of money. After all, they don't do anything.

Bulls hit. These people in government do alot. They do ALOT of very bad things that go over and above what is reasonable to hard working tax paying Americans like myself who've never been a detriment to society once ever. Government has gone beyond the regulative state of years ago, into one that has become one that more resembles a punitive state which we have today. One that punishes percieved emotionaly based outcomes that have never happened!

The more I think about it, these A Wholes in government should instead have to wear an unlockable 4 inch GPS dog collar around their neck from the day they take oath until they day they are ####canned back to the curb by the voters. I'd also like this GPS tracking to be uploaded in realtime to an internet site where I can track them at all times. I think I have a vested interest in my country in knowing what sand hole nation people like Pelosi may be visiting and cutting deals of who knows what, vs if me the truck driver who drove 800 miles and never caused a wreck

I hope you see my logic here - I am meeting absurd with the absurd.

Much like "gun kontrol", we could have "Assault government employees control". Follow me here!
