No beer, but plenty of really good whiskey, both Canadian and bourbon. Also, some really good rum. Unfortunately, there's only room to park one truck, and that one's mine.
Big John Thanks this. -
I am wanting to be an O/O. I dont know how to get started. I have money saved back to get started. I would like to haul grain. Anyone willing to help me out.
Thanks -
According to your blog you don't have much driving experience. You really need to get a few years experience with a company. Then could be ready to become a O/O.

wheathauler and Paddletrucker Thank this.

Been keeping busy Big John? Didn't know whether flats slowed down this time of year.

Well their seems to be a lot of flatbed freight moving but their is some issues with the company I am leased to and so I am at home with no load for the weekend after unloading in Tulsa on Friday. Company trucks get loaded before O/O's do. It use to not be that way but things change. When your company files for Ch. 11 bankruptcy you loose customers especially since Arrows fallout, customers don't like it when their freight is sitting all over the country and no one to deliver it. I know this has hurt us and they say by the end of the month they will be out of it but it still hurt us with customers.
I don't like to change jobs and only have had four jobs since 1996 and have been back here since April but I just can't stay here much longer. I have been approved with another flatbed company that is more into O/O's and family owned. I also have a good friend that runs some hoppers that I have talked to and we are going to get together and sit down and see what we can do. I will be making a change at the first of January. I think I can strip my truck down and run one tank of fuel and get light enough to pull a hopper.wheathauler Thanks this. -

You pullin' flats now? I thought that end of things was going along pretty good around here. I run to Dallas and back every night and I think I've seen more flats on the road up and down US75/US69/Indian Nations than I have since I started turning that run in '04. Me and some UPS guys who run down there every night, too, were talking about that Fri. night.
