Suppport Thread for the TND 500, TND 700 or future Rand McNally products.

I don't know if this has been asked, I think it would be helpful if we could favor interstates over state or national highways.

Can you tell me why the TND700 here appears to favor US36 over I70 when routing from Kansas east or Illinois( or east of Illinois)west. From anywhere west of the KCMO/KCKS area, it wants to run me over to I35 to US36-going the other way, especially when comming through Indianapolis, It routes up to I72 to US36 then down I35 to I70. This happens on both route segments-fastest or shortest.

Got news for ya, I70 is faster then US36 in most cases. I belive this is the first PND that's ever routed me using this particular routing.

That's a new routing bug. Mine would only route me across 36 if I was heading up towards Chicago or coming back from that direction.

 

Take that further and allow "favor" settings for all road classes.

Something like five or six classes of roads and on each class a selection like five selections for each.

Dislike - . - Neutral - . - Like

 

Another question, has anyone put a screen protector on these things?
Is this a good / bad idea?

 

I bought a screen protector for an Ipod and just cut to fit the screen for the 700. I think I remember seeing some on ebay for the 500.
