dac and swift

You are one of the lucky ones. I have talked to several drivers from there that had accidents and such from them that they were never in.

 

Placing good comments on your DAC report would make your more attractive to other companies. This way, you may have to come back home to good ole SWIFT.

 

You know what they say driver..."No news, Is good news". You're likely, better off anyways.

 

The dac actually helps verify your employment with many companies. I am not sure if Swift did not report it to DAC what another company might say. It might be a hassle to get your employment verified.

If you left on good standings and did nothing wrong. I would personallly call them and ask why your DAC does not reflect your employment. This way you will know what they are saying about you when employeer's do an employment verification. If they do the employment verificatin in writting (via mail or fax) you can't see what was written about you. If it is on your DAC you can order your report any time and see how they feel. If it says Yes for rehire then you have a good standing for sure.

I hope they would not rob any driver on the DAC if they was a good driver.

When did you leave? It may take a month to show up. Depends on employee doing the DAC and DAC (How caught up are they?).


Others above may be correct, so take my advice for what it is worth. I am just thinking easier for you to find dates of employment and getting your employment verifications completed for the REcruiter to hire you ASAP!

 

can't say whether it's true or not, but i've heard swift doesn't use dac. if that's true - i am suddenly a swift fan.

 

I would say not true as swift has a rep for dinging dacs.

 

Maybe I should of started a new post. But my understanding of dac (pos) sorry anyway they have been helpful I guess. anyway dac is only for nationwide co. which is good in some cases. I have worked for a man for most of my 16 years OTR and only 3 co. show up on my dac report. the bad thing is I had pissy accidents with all 3. one I hit a guardrail with my icc (well on dac it looks like I ran off the road) yeah and I know i can give dac a statement to what really happen. (2) I hit someone at 2 mph and the co. wrote it up as a sideswipe just BS in my book. even had one rearend that didnt even happen. after months of phone calls and crying all no dot reportble accidents are off. thank god dac is nothing but a back ball tool for the trucking in. in my book. And I know now to stay away from nationwide co. I am a very safe driver all these accidents happen after 13 years OTR and I dont think it fair for me or anyone to have to go without a job. TO sit around and wait for 1 or 2 accidents to become 3 years old. and yes it is the ins. co. but they are looking at dac. BTW not one accident even the jackknife that happen last year is on my MVR. But life goes on BE safe out there

And you're wise already, Eveready90. DAC is about controlling drivers and taking away their choices so they'll be cheap, well-behaved little servants. DAC never was about safety and won't ever be about safety.

Swift relies on dirty-trickery so much it'll not report your employment on your DAC. Why do they do this? Because they want to take away your choices later in hopes you'll have only one choice if you want to continue to drive rigs--come crawling back to Swift.

If a guy has a good driving record and a stable work history (and maintains his good driving record while working at Swifty), Swift will do whatever it takes to keep him on after it gets its hooks in him. Sure, that driver may quit and walk away, but ol' Swift knows how to maniuplate the broken system. They know how to make sure former drivers with stable work histories and good driving records come back not too long after quitting. DAC manipulation is how they do it.

Not every motor carrier uses DAC to report employment history and safety information. Those motor carriers that report to DAC have a choice as to how detailed their information is, it might meet all DOT requirements and it might not.

Motor carrier's cannot use DAC as a primary data output for DOT employment data (employment, substance abuse testing history and safety history) because they charge. The regs are clear that substance abuse and safety history data must be available free of charge and that's just not possible when reporting to DAC.

Another tidbit - motor carriers get a credit on their DAC/USIS account for reporting employment history data on their database, as an incentive to report, however, some motor carriers have been sued for the data provided to DAC making reporting not attractive or cost effective. I know for sure that Ryder no longer reports in DAC for this very reason.
