Is there anywhere a driver can go to check out his own CSA2010 score? and, possibly see how it will effect him in getting a job??? Also, How are the points you will have right now accumulated? My understanding of it was that its geared torward roadside inspections. I have only had 2 DOT inspections in my career and was not in violation of anything each time nor did I receive any citations for anything. I do however have a few speeding tickets that I got in my POV, seatbelt tickets in both my POV and CMV, and a couple others for minor off the wall things. How will this effect my CSA2010 score, if any???????
If possible please provide some supporting documantation... (ie. links to sites from the FMCSA) -
I don't remember the website, but you should be able to find it by doing a search for CSA 2010. If your violations were more than 3 years ago then they should not appear on your record. The older they are the less they harm your record. The first year the points are triple, double the second and then the drop off after the third year.
For instance, let's say you have a violation that is 3 points. The first year it counts as 9 points. 6 points the second year and 3 the third and then it drops off.Subzero1985 Thanks this. -
I have searched for a place where a driver can check up on his own points and have been unsucessful. I did find the website that you can look all the company information and how they rate in the new system. It just became available to the public not long ago but I am still searching for a website or something I can go to look up my own point standing as it sits right now in the FMCSA system. If you find something please let me know.

This has little to do with safety and just looks like another tool for companies in controlling drivers to a further extent. Otherwise I would have to believe that companies would be fighting this full bore, but that doesn't seem to be the case.
EVERY driver will be required to sign a waiver that enables a company to view their driving record whenever they wish as many times as they wish.
Drivers will have no control over who sees this information.
It will also be used in terminating drivers without severance pay. Because the company can access your driving abstracts they can also present them in a wrongfull dismissal case. Afterall, you already gave them access. Companies.especially big ones will find this new system especially helpfull when trying to weasel out of severance pay. Does a company have to pay severance if they no longer can legally employ you?
There will be no benefit for drivers in this law.
If safe drivers are an issue then train the drivers properly in the first place through a college course rather than cutting everyone a license who wants one. Solve the problems before they start, simple. But that would cut into companies abilities to run driver mills wouldn't it? -
There are many of us who are ready to shut down. The problem is that we have no leader, and no communications, and the government knows that. We need to get a means of communication set up. If anyone is interested I can setup a decebnt website to get the ball rolling.

Drivers can get a copy of their CSA profile, but I believe it costs them $10. We won't find out the repercussions of this new rating system for some time. I don't care for some of it, but for the first time carriers can check and monitor a drivers true record of performance. It holds drivers more accountable for their behavior. Drivers who skimp or don't bother to do a proper pre trip will likely be dinged when they get inspected. In the past if a driver got inspected and was written a ticket it always went to the carrier, even if it was due to a lack of attention from the driver. Now, the driver will share responsibility by receiving points on any warning or ticket. Drivers could falsify employment records, to some extent, and hide bad behavior. It becomes more difficult with CSA2010.

Back in December 2008.
I did a pretrip on the truck and everything was fine. 5 hours or so later, crossing a scale, I had picked up a screw and one of the tires on the trailer was low.
Scale called me in because of this and did a level 1. Found 1 light out on the trailer way up top and the tire.
Cost me 12 points.
This is before the program even became a thought, but in their look back period.
Only time I ever had a problem with a tire. -
This will never happen driver, trust me im all for it but trying to put 2 drivers together is like matching an apple and a banana. You have to many of these newbie, rookie drivers out here who only look at this as a job. Steering wheel holders is all they are and all they will ever be. Trucking has gone to #### and I really wish I could get out of it but the only experience I have is in trucking. My dad, uncle, and grandfather all drove trucks back when trucking was trucking and it was an enjoyable lifestyle not just a job.
To hell with CSA2010.... -
Where do I go to get this copy of my profile you speak of? And just like my MVR why is it I have to money to see a copy of my report? That dosent make any since. Pay $10 for a CSA report, $6 for a copy of my MVR. All for the 25 cent the paper cost for them to print it out....
