    Hey there herizon1

I'm gonna guess it all depends on where he's working now as to how big a pay difference there will be...the hourly rates should be, repeat, should be close at all the DC's minus Columbus and Lancaster - then the variance will be the routes he gets and how busy the Orlando DC is.

US Foodservice isn't anywhere near the level that Sygma is...

I see a lot of fat out of shape guys working for Foodservice.

They run ramps out the back mostly, but some trucks do have side ramps. A lot of the routes start early in the AM and you're home before dinner usually.

Depending on your physical fitness, Foodservice isn't a bad gig... I see a lot of them running around with earbuds listening to music, just cruising along.

Oh the major Foodservice complaint is the way the trucks are loaded. You'll spend a TON of time digging and digging for one box.

That will drive you nuts..... Get with a big dog like Sygma or MBM and you'll work harder but you'll be digging less, and getting paid more. But if you want a cush job where you're paid by the hour, go with Foodservice.

He won't be making 70k out of the gate at any Sygma if he xfers ) =

He'll lose all of his seniority, but if he's a beast, a sr guy may pick him up then he mayyyyy get 70k. I'm sure he knows the ins and outs but moving to a new city will probably not fix your issue of him not being home. The only way to really fix that is for him to get on with another foodservice company. He'll probably lose 30k a year with just about any other foodservice company that will have him home every day.

Sorry Herizon, part of why we get paid so well is because we're away from home ) =

Distance can make the heart grow fonder! Keep your head up and stash some money then get him into a more home time friendly company is my advice.

It all depends...the FNG's in Lancaster make more than me - of course I have never run an extra route in 4.5 years, just my bid - and I make 62k... all the extra runs the extra board guys/FNG's run puts them all close to >70k.. we are on a guaranteed weekly amount per the CBA.

Maybe that's how it is in Denver SYGMA, but at SoCal the biggest problem is the cubed out trucks (1700) and the fact that you have no choice but to handle everything at least 2-3x for the first half of the route...then more digging until you have enough room in the trailer to seperate and spread everything out...no driver at SoCal calls this job cush...not by a long shot.

I meant U.S. Foodservice when I said cush, sorry for the confusion.

And you're dealing with messy Sygma trucks in Cali?

Denver trucks are pretty well organized.... Each stack is individually strapped up, but you rarely ever have to move much around to get what you want. Sometimes you run into a piece way off from where it should be, or sometimes a pallet is turned the wrong way, and even rarer a pallet put in out of order and you have to toss a pallet over another.

I've been pondering moving out to one of the California plants... Lancaster is on my radar.

You have any input on that center samcro?

Oh and Denver has cleaned up a lot because we've got one of the head guys of all of Sygma cleaning shop. Things are running pretty smoothly but our bids have taken a HUGE nose dive.... A lot of guys were making 70-120k but no we might not even have anyone hit 100k.

I'm something like 61 on the list running relief by choice, and I may only get into the 70's if I'm lucky.... Very lucky.. And I take on just about anything I can

SAMCRO-Love the name. Why does Lancaster make more? Do you all have less than a $1000 guarantee?

I was just talking with a recruiter from Sygma about a line haul position. He said they dispatch on Sun morning, and are in on Thurs. You always have Fri/Sat off. He also said they give you a credit card to pay for a motel, but if you choose to sleep in the truck, they would pay you $40 instead. Is there any unloading for the line haul drivers?
