actually, i'd use YellowPages.com, and then go to the map with 'birds eye' view. you can pan and rotate 360 deg. give you a better idea of what to expect. only problem with YP.com is that it can be sooooooooo

    #### Richard; have to give you props on some of the useful online tools you mention. Would never have thought about using the online YellowPages. Sometimes the most simplest things are right in front of our eyes.

I have a Powerdrive 300. It is ok for the laptop. I think a 400 Cobra is on my list.

Not that I consider this a gadget...but if you stop at the visitor center on the Interstates as you enter a state...you can grab a free state map when you go inside. I think they are nice to have tucked away...just in case.

asus t91mt, last year's streets and trips with gps receiver for $20, poi megafile download. eclipse logbook, netbook mounting bracket. literally dollars away from the billy big-rigger gps and infinitely more useful.

Another cool gadget to have on the truck is the stereo system with the auxiliary input. Pop a movie into your laptop or DVD player, connect the earphone jack from that to the stereo and you can hear the movie through the truck's speaker system just like at the movies.
