Nope it was Stevens. Been in the same house for 17 years and worked for Stevens 3 years. They had the wrong address and it was sent back to them. I finally got it today. Woohoo! Dumas's. Can't swear but I can mention one of the many appropriately named towns in Texas! HA

Hey when you guys get to the yard tell everyone HI from EMMA.

You must work for Stevens. Every time they said they changed it but obviously not. Glad to be away from incompetence.
Have you ever tried to find a receiver in a small Alabama town at 3 in the morning when the office has given you an old address and phone number. The office gets short with you and informs you that they can't do anything. I actually went door to door at any open business that I could find to ask where this company had moved. Finally one night supervisor took the time to drive me, in his own car, to the new location. (Left my student sleeping in the truck.)
Another time I was sent to the actual grocery store and not the warehouse in South Portland Maine. Had to follow the local Frito Lay delivery van to the warehouse.
This misinformation is quite common with Stevens. After those incidents I realized that, against company directives, I had to take matters into my own hands before something bad would happen. I learned to contact shippers and receivers on my own to confirm addresses of pick-up and delivery. Get appointments verified, directions, if parking was available and if they had facilities for use. I kept a detailed notebook of everyplace I went and what was offered in the region. You want it?
This misinformation can be stopped if they took initiative to do so.
1. When an employee tells you to correct their personal information, DO SO NOW. Don't jot it down on a piece of paper to do later or to give to someone else. If it requires someone else, send the employee to that person to get it done.
2. When planning a load, the planner can ask one simple question of the customer, 'Can I have an update of the current phone number and current address of the pickup/delivery location?'
All it takes is initiative on the planners part to make life easier and safer for the drivers on the road.
