Verizon Wireless Broadband

I don't know for sure......but, i'll be checking it out tomorrow....but lvjeffro said in one of his posts that Verizon limits its "unlimited" broadband to 5GB per month....If this is so then it's not unlimited. Gonna have to check it out.

 

most require a 2year contract although if you want a cell phone you can get a sprint phone that has java enabled and get their navagation on it
it may cost a little more but you will have both cell and gps directions I think it is even speaks to you.

Yeah, And i have read that it's $79 if it's not linked somehow to a cell phone plan. Is that right? The verizon that is.

 

that is right,my verizon is 79.95 plus taxes because I don't have their cell phone,I have sprint cell phone and waiting till nov to switch when it runs out. I really love my verizon air card though,the verizon cell phone has a gps option too,it talks you right to the place,if you make a wrong turn it even corrects that and tells you which way to go to straighten you out. My verizon guy showed it to me,really neat.

 

Only problem I have with it is the 5GB limit.......unlimited should mean unlimited....

Get a Verizon wireless aircard.

They are scamming people and there will eventually have to be a class action lawsuit against them for their crimes.

Here's my story:

Paid $150 for their aircard. Paid $80/month for their so-called "unlimited" internet access.

Within 2 weeks I got a letter in the mail that I was being terminated for using too much bandwidth, which is apparently 5mb's per month. I kid you not. They will only allow you to download 5 megabytes per month. That's like checking your email 20 times. It's absolutely ridiclous and I have no idea how they're getting away with it, but they are.

They STOLE 220 dollars from me for 2 weeks of internet access. I was stuck in training with Werner without the internet because I had no way of getting home and getting another service set up.

Go with Sprint. I've had a great experience in 3 months so far with their U720. Great speeds whenever you're near a city and very decent speeds when you aren't. Always a connection. And only 60/month.

 

Would love to invest in it, but 2 year contract on something like this scares me.

I hate it when a business takes my money without asking. Many have and there is honestly nothing you can do to get it back, short of filing a law suit.

In the case of Verizon and the other big guys in the internet/phone/laptop business, they are at least upfront with their terms and conditions. Yes you have to dig, albeit not far, to discover in bold print that you have limitations on your "Unlimited" plan.

Don't get me wrong. I hate the false advertising. It will change, I am betting, this year. Just like some of the 'unlimited' talk time plans have now been defined at 4000 min/month (AT&T).


Sprint 5 gigs a month, no more than 200 megs a day.
Verizon 5 gigs a month, no more than 200 megs a day.
AT&T No specified limit, but defined as limited.
Altell No specified limit, but defined as limited.
T-Mobil No specified limit, but defined as limited.

NOW, take note, though Verizon has not officially changed their terms of service agreement, there is rumor on some reputable Computer Geek blogs that they are very quietly cutting contracts with people who use more than 4 gigs a month. If they did that, I'd fight em', because its 5 gigs on your contract. There's a money making lawsuit in that and any attorney with some corporate law experience would eat it up.

If you do a lot of surfing on a wireless card or use a capable PDA or smartphone... well there's hope.
