I do not have my twic and it has not been a problem...they just have never tried to send me to one.

When I spoke to a recruiter they said it is mandatory o have a twic which I will not be getting my sea-link card expired for the simple reason I will not work in ports any longer.
I spent close to 300 bucks for this passport, and passcard thinking I was going to work for the glass division, smfh. I was going to ports here in jersey and they don't even bother asking for a twic card. What a joke.
I guess I wont be going to maverick. -
They will eventually get around to everyone getting one, but it will not keep you from getting hired on at Maverick.
-
if you dont already have your twic they have you fill out the paperwork for it at orientation and payroll deduct it in 4 installments.
-
they must of just recently changed that. I don't have one, and no one has mentioned it.
-
They are basically forcing you to get something you don't want if that's the case like I stated I won't be going to them. I just finished paying 3 hundred and some change for a #### passport now all of a sudden I call back they ask to get a twic GTFOH.

It allows you to go into ports and get loads....which equals miles which equals $
When they finally get around to it I will gladly get mine! -

Lol port's don't equal miles and money trust me it's a waste of time, by sitting around so you you can get your load? You think by going into ports you'll be in and out? Basically as the start of my cdl career that is all I dealt with was port's, and it's a waste of time and money. You can be siting for 6 hours for a load.I'm not trying to discourage anyone from getting it but I am done with port's thats the main reason I stopped driving trucks in the first place. All the local gigs around my way has to deal with ports one way or another. You get treated like ##### excuse my language, by the cops that supposedly protect the ports sitting waiting if your paper work is either right or wrong you have to wait for faxes to be sent and received, and that can be a whole day in it self and then be denied the load at the end? To top it off the worst ports to get into is NJ and NY and neither ask for twic reference all they want is your drivers license!
